I read up on it, i just dont know what the hell it is i have to do to clear it....?

another problem is that im idling at 1100 rpms, I was at like 1600 before a buddy and I messed with the TPS and got the rpm to go down.....1100 is still pretty high though. I was throwing code 51 before we messed with the TPS but now Im only throwin 32. Any suggestions? :1zhelp:

You "messed" with the TPS????

There's a pretty specific procedure in the TRSM for adjusting the TPS...you might want to search this site for "high idle" and/or "TPS" and do a little light reading. After that, if you have more specific questions you might get some help.

Here's the link to the online TRSM...suggest you read that as well.

(about idling high)
Reading the online manual, here is the list of the things that i came up with that it could be...... the ISC system (either the wiring or the valve itself), Timing, maybe fuel pressure????

I am not sure if its code 32 or not either, the airflow meter (circuit) ??? I have no idea.....thanks for your help jdub.

as jdub mentioned already, you don't just "mess" with the TPS. since he's covered it already, i won't go there.

as for the code 32, chances are that your AFM is dead. check the connection, clear the codes, drive it around a bit, then check the codes again. if it pops back up, look for new AFM electronics. (the little black box that's held to the AFM housing with three small screws.

What we did was tilt the tps slightly to the left and put the screws back on. I didn't take it apart or anything. I think it sounded worse than it was.......But yeah I understand why a person can't just mess with the TPS.
How much would you say a working AFM is (used)?

Thanks Shaeff, I'm clueless about most of this stuff, i am still trying to learn....... thanks guys

Did you happen to clean the AFM probe (the electronic parts that sticks down in the AFM)? With something like carb cleaner?

No...don't do it. Carb cleaner destroys the sensor.
I just want to ask...simular problems have been caused by doing it.

heh, about 2 months ago, i GAVE away stock AFM electronics. (well, the person i gave them to paid shipping)

however, it's not uncommon for them to sell for $30-40.

here's how to adjust the TPS properly:

not if you're bone stock. you need other upgrades first.
