New build just ran fine 1 hour test run yesterday, but son took it out today for short test and ran fine until he ran hard in 2nd, 3rd and 4th when engine started missing and set three codes. As this is a new build, I wonder if a computer connection may have failed, or ? Do these three codes showing together all at once give a clue? FYI, running with AFM and no air filter yet. I will check for trash on sensor, but I read these codes as AFM signal, turbo present signal, and knock sensor. Car is 87 just converted from na/auto to jdm turbo/5 speed with 87 turbo ecu and harness.

Check for boost leaks.

How were the knock sensor connectors and wiring at the knock sensors?

AFM could be due to the lack of an air filter. you can't clean the AFM. If it's dirty, it's broken. replace it.
Turbo pressure abnormal can be due to an air leak, or the AFM going bad and giving your ecu hell.

Check knock sensor wiring. it's common that they go bad.

Apart from that i'm with supraguy@aol :D

Thanks guys, no filter cause don't have a stock turbo unit and the after market unit I got (k&n) adapter plate doesn't fit (but I can drill new holes for mounting) and excited to test engine. I know, everybody has excuses. As for son driving, its supposed to be his car but so far I've done all the work (sound familiar anyone?) As for romping, he claims not, but I bet he was. Note not a rebuild but a used engine I replaced valve seals, head gasket, ARP bolts, cleaned oil pan and top end, bores looked great with cross hatch still showing and no ridge, rebuilt turbo, new water pump, belts & hoses, etc.
When you say I can't clean the afm you mean the electrical unit? Not even a little bit? CRC makes a product I have used on other makes for this purpose, is it really not possible? I will check other items you mention, and thanks again for the fast answers.

I believe this type AFM works with small mirrors inside. Cleaning it with carb cleaner or running compressed air through it will surely ruin the AFM.
And yes, just the electrical part. the housing is not going to break down as it's just a piece of metal with a honeycomb structure in it (karman vortex).

Thanks for the good info. I found that I had failed to tighten one of the hose clamps to the 3000 pipe and after fixing that, cleared codes and all is well. Car runs strong and no codes set. Idle is rough, but engine sat for years before I got it and IAC may need cleaning and injectors are probably dirty but these are things I should be able to deal with. Thanks again guys. This forum has been great.
