This question was asked on speedtalk.com's Engine Tech forum(NOT ASKED BY ME) I just cross posted to get more informed opinions from those that may have used the NA manifold
What has been the experience of those that used the 7mge manifolds?

Toyota 7MGTE, restricted to oem intake manifold

The stock intake manifold is this (Picture deleted "Stock 7mgte manifold)



BUT, there is also an N/A variant with the same head that uses this
(picture deleted "stock 7mge manifold)



Contained under the plate in the center of the lower picture is a butterfly valve opens or closes to divide the plenum between 123-456 and can be activated by a simple rpm switch.

Thoughts?


edit: I completely forgot to mention it's turbocharged

That's all well and fine, but the ACIS doesn't work under positive manifold pressure. Don't you think that we'd have been doing this for years now with the GTE's if there was any benefit to it?

In any case, there are much better mods out there, such as a custom FFIM.

You just need a vac source, like a reservoir and check valve.
