Thanks...

Hmmm looks like I'll be making a trip to the store today. Excited about picking up a DIE, is this what I can expect my summer to become? :p

i ripped off the upper black portion of my shifter and threaded the remaining stick.

the diameter is too small, so i picked up a small pipe, size guaged by eye to make an adaptor out of. it works great. no more weird noises, no shift knob getting loose....

only downside is that my adaptor has gotten stuck in the shift knob so ill either have to destroy my old shift knob to get it out, or make another adaptor when i want to use a new knob.

Hey fellas, I found a company in Canada(through my import shop) who makes a true short shifter. Not just cut down. It also comes threaded on top for stock shifter replacement(or aftermarket)and has the hardened plastic piece on the very bottom. If I can remeber right it has the stock bend but it is a few inches shorter and the entire through is about 40% less. It now almost feels like an eclipse shifter. There is maybe 2" of through form 1st-2nd. They make them as soon as an order comes in(I got mine in 1 week) for $150. Thats a lot less then what I've seen them go for. Hope this helps some people. Later-T

I agree with doc, the reason I'm looking more and more to the SOGI is for shifting. Around town, don't get me wrong, I LOVE the C's, esp. my short one. But when it comes time to mow through the gears, it doesn't cut it. My old SOGI was pretty good with that part, I must say.

Went out and took some pics, just for you :icon_razz It's SOGI with the top threads re-welded at the local Meineke (my usual muffler shop was closed.) Ugly as sin welds, but it works. Haven't missed a shift with the R154 yet

Hahaha rock on man, that's exactly what I wanted to see. That looks fine, nothing a little grinding wheel couldn't clean up on a rainy day ;)

the c's is a true short shifter.

the problem is that the R154 does NOT like true short shifters. all it did was make me miss shifts when it mattered (i.e. drag strip, etc.).

Never missed a shift with mine... then again i shift slow....
