Nah, not really. It's not a performance engine, 200 Horsepower is more than enough to ferry someone to the grocery store and back.

Anyway, The 1JZ-GE power and Torque numbers are almost a mirror image of those of a 7M-GE, pretty impressive if you remember that the 1J is down 500cc, but hey that's progress for you.

I believe it's still in production in the Mark II, which has funnily enough received a bastard sibling of Supra engines on more than one occasion, 1G-FE anyone?

yes.. GE and GE w/ VVT-i

That aside, the more uncommon 1JZ-FSE is an amazing NA motor.. its got an 11:1 compression and can run fine on regular unleaded petrol lol. Its also supposed to have really low emissions IIRC.
