The cop was on a power trip and was looking for some reason to yell at the kids. If he would have just said "get out of here" or "get lost", like cops around me do, the kids most likely would have said ok and just left.

I had a pair of cops treat me in a similar fashion when I was in Junior High, claiming that my friend and I were going around kicking over people's garbage all over the alleys and yelling at us in their patrol car. They asked us how many kids walking around would match the description perfectly. They then proceeded to tell me that I was wearing a green jacket when it was clearly a brown Nike jacket. I was pissed.

We were on our way to the "witnesses" house to be "identified" when we stumbled upon 2 kids that ACTUALLY matched the description and smelled like they were just smoking weed all afternoon. I was returned to my house (where they pulled over and picked me up as I was just leaving my house to go to the house of the friend I was with) and wasn't even given an apology.

Most of the cops I've dealt with in my life have been extremely nice and I have rarely had a problem, just like most people in fact. It's just that when a person who I wouldn't normally get along with all of a sudden has a badge, they can take it to an entirely different level.

The cop is obviously an ass being as he has to patrol a round in a meter-maid-mobile,and then loses his mind with power. "Oh wait,am i being videod?"
The only thing i could possibly see in defense of the "cop" is that after watching some news feed,that skateboarding in the area is illegal,the kids knew it,they chose to ignore that law.

The thing is, I skate, and skateboarding (Unless in a skatepark) is illegal.

When I was 12, and was unaware of the law, I skated to a buddy's house. On the way a cop pulled me over (Drove his cop car on the sidewalk with the sirens blaring), and pushed me off the skateboard.

Doesn't stop there.
Same cop, saw me walking at 3am (I'm in the right, because we DO NOT HAVE A CURFEW (As a county). Pulled a GUN on me because I didn't put my hands up.

This is out of line, nobody respects the police, because the power they BELIEVE they hold.

Does anyone in the court system give a fuck what they do?

Nope.

It will never change, and I have yet to see a police officer do anything for the good sake of my life.

It is illegal??? for reals?? Cali doesn't even have that law. Only that you have to wear a helmet when you are under the age of 18.( or at any age i am not sure.)
