thinking shark fin

I was thinking of a shark fin roof mount antenna on my 87 since i shaved my original. whatdoyathink? imo they look better than the euro stubby.

I think it would look good mounted on the roof, but how hard is it to move the antenna to the roof to make it functionable. You can always get it as a decorative piece mounted to the roof, and just hook up the integrated rear glass antenna.

I guess moving the antenna wouldnt be too hard (cable extention, right parts), the real question is, do i really want to drill a hole in my roof (right?!). what about mounting the fin on the rear spoiler? (looking for something different yaknow, or is that too ghetto)

I'm assuming it's held on by a magnet like the XM radios do. Does the sharkfin antenna have to be on the outside of the car? If not, just put it in the hatch where the jack goes. In that little compartment. It's very thin metal right there so it might work. But i dont kno much about radiowaves and what interferes with them or what gets the best reception.

I agree with "aye mate". Unless you could hide it, mount it under your spoiler or something, I'd pass. But then I'd still want to hide a stubby euro.

its held by adhesive and screws to a base roof mount (i was kinda thinking it would look good and all on the outside) but i quess we wont know till i try it with a dummy antenna and post the pics
