thinking of using the AEM pencil coil

I am thinking of using the AEM pencil coil and doing a way with the dh61 ignitor and 7m coils. I emailed AEM and they said you can wire them straight into your ems. has anyone used these before? I have heard that even with the dh61 ignitor people still have problems with noise messing with their ignition and i thinking this would be a good way to not have to worries about the ignition with my car any more.

Could also use 1zz smart coils. Prolly cheaper than the aems as well.

ya i have heard of people using them but can you just wire them into the AEM EMS or do they need a special driver?

Would work fine. You only use 3 out of the 4 wires on the coil.

You could use 2JZ-GE waste fire coils that are coil on plug for 3 cylinders, with the shorty spark plug wires for the other 3, this is plug and play with the DH61 and shouldn't give any issues with noise. Plus lots of spark energy.

I will have to looking into those coils, As far as spark energy I have a Kenny Bell boost a spark.

If your going to switch switch to 1zz smart coils. They have built in igniters so you don't need an igniter and you don't need any sort of "spark boost". They will handle all your needs.

Albert makes the adapter bolt on plate for 7m and jz. Iirc he is also using them on his 700+hp 1jz.
