Just like the title says, im thinking about gettin a blow through carb setup on my car, instead of FI ! now most likely i will be starting a buildthread very soon, i just wanted to see what people think, im gonna be making a nice custom intake to fit the carb on along with a few other customizations :)

here is a pic of a blow through carb:

That may be true on an N/A but the reason OEM's didn't use turbos back in the day was because turbos and carbs didn't get along very well. I owuld love to see how the A/F ratio can stay correct.

Even though I would never even think of doing it, I still hope it works out for you.

O.K. you got me there, what's an e 85??

E85 is an alcohol fuel mixture that typically contains a mixture of up to 85% denatured fuel ethanol and gasoline or other hydrocarbon (HC) by volume.

Just because IJ. can do it, doesn't mean everyone can. I'm pretty sure IJ. could make a car run on pasteurized breast milk...if he really wanted to. :biglaugh:

I do not see any reason to do it at all, there is a reason its a dead technology. I have seen the results of carbs and turbos none were good.

In the end if you do go ahead with this I think you will find that you have almost the same money into it as a good standalone. But no were near the results you would with standalone and a good tuner.

what the big deal about e85? it takes MORE fuel to create the same amount of combustion that gasoline does, so in essence you make more power, but you suck even MORE fuel in. just go get some 100 octance, or some 110 leaded race gas...

E85 is a band wagon thing just because people get more power from it doesnt mean its better...

but anything is possible with time, money, and a lot of knowledge. IJ truly knows his shit, and he probably could make something run of breast milk.
