Sorry to everyone else... I dont like cranky people that just rant about themselves being right.
LoL ..... all I hear from IJ is crap about an LS engine being better. I would take a toyota/lexus engine(same company you know) over an LS overpriced paperweight any day of the week. You can buy the parts for the LS cheap because they are cheaply made and people stand behind the cars because they believe the crap that the commercials state about them. Last but not least, JDM ... the fact that they have an abbreviation for their market that you know makes the motors cost more and run better makes me wonder why you haven't done more research about what they do that makes the motors better in the first place. I have never heard a machine shop state that a toyota or lexus motor needs to be beefed up... balanced... blueprinted.... really anything more then replacing old head-gaskets properly with better materials. For that matter, JDM also makes a 4g63 2.0 dodge/mitsubishi motor that, in many peoples opinions, is one of the BEST built motors ever made and way ahead of its time. And btw... If I had to pick any domestic motor to put into my Toyota again... it would be a HEMI!! lol... just thought about that... a HEMIYOTA... HEMOTA...hmm....
Now that I made him mad at me.... what was the original poster wanting... oh right.. .a toyota motor opinion.
To the original poster, from all the stuff you can find about the 2uz-fe and the other models of the same engine. It is a truck engine and might not handle the way you want it to. Even the cams and the programming for the engine will be based off of driving it at low rpms and grunt work. For that fact alone I would pick the 1uz-fe vvti motor OR the 3uz-fe vvt-i which is available in the newer lexus cars and because they hardly every break there will be motors available in the wrecking yards from accident victims
oh... I got a good joke that is relevant to this thread. Keep in mind I have nothing against domestic cars at all so dont attack me for this.
So 4 cars enter a race to see who could complete 100 laps around a winding twisty track the fastest. 1 car was made by ford, 1 was made by dodge, 1 was made by general motors, and last but not least 1 was made by toyota. All the cars had the same horsepower and final gear ratios to make it absolutely as fair as possible. They all line up at the line and waited for the whistle....... BANG!!! everyone starts but the ford.... which made the bang as its rod came through the top of the motor. After a while in the race the dodge suddenly crashes for no apparent reason. When checked out they found the ABS system locked up the brakes on the car in the middle of a corner.... wow. Down to two cars.... who is gonna win.... lap 60..... lap 70.... lap 80... wait.... where did the chevy go. It was in the lead last lap.... oh there it is.. out of gas. Toyota wins in style!
HA HA HA, ok... I have to admit.. not that funny but it really was a joke I heard at a swap meet where a camaro was making noise about his car. In the end... its more about the reaction of the people who love the domestic brands.
