well, since i have to start all over again, its the perfect opportunity to do the sup all my way. im really thinkin about putting her on the bottle. do like a 100 or 150 shot. im more than sure that my motor will handle it. a full arp engine kit and a metal headgasket is a lethal combination. any ideas from the community?:icon_evil

Thoughts?

well the first question is WHY Nitrous? Because it is cheap? I have some news for you, it is not, ESPECIALLY when taken over the life of the motor. Nitrous requires a cheap initial purchase price which makes it seem attractive to most people that don't research! The truth is it WILL cost the buyer alot more than a custom made turbo kit ever will. Why? Because of the REFILLS.

A turbo kit has a big initial buy in but no need to purchase refills. One turbo can last 100,000 miles easily (on street driving, racing all bets are off). Try to do that on the bottle ;) That is off course my own opinion. But to me this sounds more like a dreamer post.

Never been a nitrous guy and never will be. It's more of an opinion thing more than anything. Nitrous will hurt you internally if you don't have anything to support it. If you do plan to get supporting mods, then more power to you, but I prefer straight line boost.:) Also, if you've never ridden in a car with nitrous, don't think it's like off of F&F where when you're going 120 and push the button you burn out and hit 200mph.;) It's nothing like that at all...:p

NOYFB!
Get the NO2! For your intercooler!:icon_razz Put a big old nasty looking sprayer loop on it, and a purge, just for show! Then anyone that thinks that your turbo alone, won't get it done, can think again, when you purge 15ft of NO2 on em'!!!:evil2: Only you and your bud's have to know it's only for the IC!:naughty:

IF you decide to do nitrous, you have to take alot of things into consideration... For one, your motor wasnt built to handle the heat, pressure and abuse the sudden shot of nitrous will give it... Keep in mind, when you use nitrous, you are basically forcing more pressure into your cylinder chambers... The added heat will cause things like your rings and even pistons to expand... When this happens it increase your compression... When I had my motor built, one of the things we discussed was the possibility that I may use a small, say, 50 shot of nitrous... So my motor was build for that variable... If I wanted a 150 shot, the tolerances would have been totally different... If you do nitrous, do a wet shot, and dont do more than 50-60hp...

If you want to cool your intake charge, use meth or water injection, cheaper, and water is free...

As for cost: I totally agree with Figgie... If its a cost v/s performance thing, the nitrous may appear to be a benefit in the short run, but in the long run, the turbo will do you much better...

Look at it like this...
Nitrous kit: $550
Bottle warmer: $100
Purge kit: $100
Remote turn on: $250

There's a thousand dollars, and you havent even filled your bottle... You know what kind of turbo you can get for a $1000?

Just some food for thought man...

Yep, and that's street legal too.. :D I was thinking about doing that... Because you can use either nitrous or CO2... And CO2 is alot cheaper than NO2...

calm down boys, your all post whores, hahaha. after talking with jake about it, i think ill do the kit but only for the intercooler. i may put a purge on it but just having the purge seems kind ricy to me. it would be cool though. in eithercase, im not spraying anything into my motor other than alot of boost. but the intercooler thing is a definate possibility.

You know Brandon, you can gain an easy 20hp from freezing your IC... If you're really interested, talk to Bobby (outofstep) about his IC cooling set up...

And Will, thats why you dont have a ban stick, :D:D:D

On Jspec's mind at the hour:

"Freeze your intercooler and gain 20hp".

Hmm....
.........What if your intercooler doesn't fit in your freezer?:naughty:
