Toyota Spent more money designing the engine bay of our car than you will most likely make in 3 lifetimes, everything is there for a reason. You are not smarter than toyota's billions of dollars and best engineers back in the day.

i agree with this statement, but, alot of the stuff in there is extra for luxury purposes and certain things there to meet government regulations.

Charcoal canister-emissions/evap system. a dump tube wont kill anyone
cruise control- luxury
stock boost sensor- duh get an aftermarket gauge
egr- eh, find a way around emissions testing
ffim- better flow, better looks, less intake piping, piping doesnt run over top of the motor collecting massive amounts of heat.
coil pack placement- heat heat heat... heat raises resistance.
fuel damper- if you get a afpr thats worthy, your pressure wont fluctuate.
a/c- a heavy luxury.. i removed all of the components including the lines. only because i didnt want to retrofit.

toyota didnt design our car nor our engine bay perfectly, there are things that can and will be done to improve asthetics and functionality.

The pulsation damper is an accumulator. No pressure-reg can take its place. You can argue that the pressure shock from an injector closing is not big enough to worry about (obviously Toyota thought otherwise), but an AFPR responds too slow to replace its function.

It is the Charcoal canister, I have replaced it with a catch can for the valve cover breathers. I'm just tryin to clean up the engine bay. I took the EGR off because I didn't want it there and needed to replace the plate on the back of the head anyways. I have a 60mm turbo, 660 injectors, afpr, hks ic and piping, tial bov. I have alot done, I just want clean up the bay.

carefully consider everything you're doing, and if you still decide to remove things, do them one at a time, bag and tag them, so that if you ever decide you want them back, all you have to do is bolt them back on.

and you catch can isn't doing very much when it's sitting next to the hot exhaust. ;) it needs to be someplace cool where the vapors will condense in the can.

Well everything that I have listed that I have taken off, I took off a long time ago with no problems. I don't care for the egr and the charcoal can. I see a lot of people run the catch can in that location and not have a problem esp big powered mk4's. I just wanted to know what else I could take off. I know for the most part what the effects are for taking off the parts that I have and have taken the precautions that I needed.

Beat me too it but absolutely correct. Appears most of these guys have never heard of hydraulic hammer and the damage it can do.

1st mod for this type of thing seems to be a deletion of the Common Sense Generator (CSG)........

Ohhhh I see you've already done that one :nono:

Nah...clearly a case of a swap for Common Sense Inverter (CSI)

Lmao @ "CSG". I'm gonna use that in the future. Where exactly is that located on the car? Is it near the nut behind the wheel? The one often found loose?

I think it's a part of the alloy that the nut is made up of. You don't need this specific CSG as there are better ones out there. The best thing to do is to replace said nut as it is a weak point from the factory ;).
