Thermostat Location and replacement.

Does it over heat at random and push coolant out of the resv?
If not, I'm looking for a driving situation that causes it every time. (i.e stop/go, highway, etc.)
Any white smoke out of the tail pipe?
When it over heats, does the temp gauge go all the way up or just part way (i.e where is the pointer on the gauge)?
Any coolant leaks other than out of the resv?
How old is the radiator? The fan clutch too?

Im guessing you have electric fans. Did you do a compression test?

no havent had a compression test yet and i dont think that i have electric fans, i mean, i have just a stock GE.

-It will sometimes purge from the overflow tank after i have been driving for awhile usually stop and go but it does sometimes overheat on the highway.
-No white smoke.
-The temp guage rises slow sometimes and fast sometimes but never immediate.
-No other leaks
_Im pretty sure its stock rad and fan clutch.

Well...I would have the system pressure tested to make sure there are no leaks.

Things to check:
- Your radiator may be getting clogged up since it's the orginal
- Make sure your fan clutch is operating normally...you should hear it kinda loud when you 1st crank and after 45 sec or so it should quiet down.
- If the the fan shroud is busted/cracked/missing the lower piece...replace it.

will do, the fan is loud and then quiets down and the shroud is all there. so i will check for the clogs and have it pressure tested. thanks for the help
