well my rods were marked 1-6 so if you didnt put pistons back in same hole look little harder and find the rod markings.. they are hard to figure out.. mine had all kinda funky things on them but they did have a 1-6 on them... if new rings.. but you didnt hone cylinders .. id be they still good..if you are like dead ass broke and i know the feeling.. then hell borrow a hone from someone.. have them show you how to hone it... reuse rings.. put pistons back in same hole they should go in.. slap this head gasket im gona send ya and glue pan on.. and cross your fingers... but get some guidence.. you need it.. but obviously you pulled it .. took apart... put back together and it did run some what.. so hell i give you a A+ for effort but a F for not getting help.. SOONER lol.. but anyway you gota do what you gota do to get moving.. the BUS SUCKSSSSS ..
i looked everywhere for the marks and didnt see them!!

well.. there is always the cylinder wall scratches.. each one is like a finger print.. will have same scratches on skirt of piston.. but in all honestly mixing pistons and rods up on a 6cyl aint the worse thing to happen...would be no diferant if you bought a used block and sent of used pistons and rods and crank from another block as a donner.. so its not a death blow..to motor..

He probably didnt gap them, just installed.

he didnt stager them.. but its a USED high mile engine.. gap the rings ? dont think its nessesary lol im sure the gap is severl k over limit as is but we all know thats ok when you cant aford to bore it.. And dude you need a mls head gasket and arp studs to do this right if you are going to bore it.. now if you are going to take apart and do a quick fix and baby it till you can aford the new parts then yea i will send you head gasket and you just pay shippin.. but to rebuild it as in new pistons and boring it and use a grafite stock gasket ... well not the best thing from what i have read in here.. and a 1.2 mls gasket can be had for 90- 120 bucks....

One thing you'll see people cheap out on is proper prep for a MHG...specifically the head/block decks. They don't get them to the RA spec required for a good seal...then, they get to re-do the job again ;)

it was my first time rebuilding a motor and i DID use new piston rings but i didnt gap them and didnt align them properly....hommer, i am gonna build the motor to a little over factory specs: .020 over pistons/rings clevite bottom end, arp bottom end studs but now i can afford a mhg. i will most likley have the block decked anyway (with the front cover) so when i do finally need a mhg, i can basically do just that, put it in...
