so ive done a complete overhaul on my motor. this was my first time rebuilding a motor so i was supra lol excited. i got it in the car and everything hooked up. started it and it ran for a sec.!:biglaugh: but didnt run for more than 2 secs unless i revved it to 2k rpm....took it to the shop i work at and did a compression test and what do ya know? 75 psi in every cylinder.....fuck! did a pressure test with my motor at top dead center and took off the oil cap and put my hand there.....ran some air into the cylinder and immidiatley felt air rushing around my hand......another fuck! so after almost a grand in parts im out again and i guess im pulling the motor!! i had an srt-4 lined up but took another look at the supra, swallowed hard, and decided: Supra for life! so im gona rip it all apart again, put in the piston rings the RIGHT way, throw forged pistons in, mhg, arp's .020 over, and have one hell of a car....ill be taking the bus for a long time until i can save up for all the parts im gonna need.....but when im on my way to SILV, it will all be worth it....

Dude your engine building skillz suck...tyical 7m story. Poor engine building skillz. 100 to 1 says that you didn't put the rings in properly. I bet the end gaps are all in a row all lined up. ROFL You may find that reinstalling the rings in the proper way may save this, but you have not the skillz IMHO

You 100% sure you got timming right ? and are you 100% valve lash set corect? i just now right this damn minut.. got done with my head im fixing to put on and it takes HRS to set valve lash corectly... but if you compleatly rebuilt motor.. You should have hella lot more compression then that.. I would make sure you have those 2 things corect before you go yankin motor out again....

Damn man that is rough!! At least you are staying upbeat about the situation!! I would be throwing a shit fit right about now. When you rebuild it next time try to find someone in your area that can guide you through the process and check some of your work for you. Good luck!!

Just get some new rings and install them right. A freshly built motor will have low compression until the rings are seated, but not that low.

No better way to learn something than messing up and having to go through hell to fix it. You know youl never make that mistake ever again, so if anything it was a good experience. I learn a lot of things this way

well my rods were marked 1-6 so if you didnt put pistons back in same hole look little harder and find the rod markings.. they are hard to figure out.. mine had all kinda funky things on them but they did have a 1-6 on them... if new rings.. but you didnt hone cylinders .. id be they still good..if you are like dead ass broke and i know the feeling.. then hell borrow a hone from someone.. have them show you how to hone it... reuse rings.. put pistons back in same hole they should go in.. slap this head gasket im gona send ya and glue pan on.. and cross your fingers... but get some guidence.. you need it.. but obviously you pulled it .. took apart... put back together and it did run some what.. so hell i give you a A+ for effort but a F for not getting help.. SOONER lol.. but anyway you gota do what you gota do to get moving.. the BUS SUCKSSSSS ..

Its all good man ...... we all learn some how. Some learn on the front end while others learn on the back end. I am no super mechanic but I am a very witty guy and I have done some things in the past that I look back on as pretty stupid and after 5 engine rebuilds 4 NA motors and 1 turbo all done at home in my garage I not afraid of asking questions that some may find to be “stupid” ….. If your are in doubt just post a question or send a PM to some of the more knowledgeable guys and they will help you out.

We all are in the same game trying to make the MK-III Supra fast and eye catching and guess what we all are the underdogs…. That’s what the forum is here for support

but u are still and idiot :) ...... J/K
