Well a month ago I checked my codes and it said that my 02 sensor was faulty. Couldn't do much cuz I didn't have the money. So today i was driveing the supra and the car feels gutless. and it sputters when i hit 3000rpm and feels like theres no gas comeing in. Plus the car smeels like crap so bad like it smelt burnt. I am guess the air to fuel mixture isn't right due to the o2 being crap. I think the cars o2 was changed 80,000 miles ago so the previous owner told me. Haha he lives next to me. Anyway so is that right is it just a faulty o2? Also my tps is bad but I am getting that taken care of =D

89 Supra turbo 5spd hks dp and 2.75in exhuast all the way KandN fipk Intake.

Pull codes now to see if anything changed...I doubt it's the O2 sensor causing the problem you described.

Well, first off you shouldn't have driven the car for a month with a bad O2 sensor. Fix it and check for more codes. Sure it's fireworks and not rotten eggs? You might be smeeling hydrogen sulfide...

yeah it smells like that rotton stuff

That could be mixture or catalyst related. You need to fix the TPS and O2 sensor and do whatever else it takes to get the engine back into fuel control. H2S is both poisonous and flammable btw, so feel free to stress on ;)

yeah I won't drive the car for anything now I am going to take the bike everywhere. I am in the process of getting everything. I am going to check the codes again. I am going to repace the TPS CPS and o2 hopefully by next weekend. If anyone else has anymore ideas I would like to hear them.

Why replace the CPS?

Thats what the codes said. I'd rather replace all 3 so that way in case it thats not it it rules them out. plus my car is turning 20 years old next month so its going to need new parts. who knows it could be that but I don't know. All i know is i gotta change the 02 and the tps cuz they are dust. I checked the tps on tem ohm meter and it doesn't even meet the requirements of a working one so Its dead plus the idle travel shows that its that too a few guys told me on here.

Besides the car has 307,000 miles on the original engine buddy. So I am going to play it safe.

You should have posted the codes. There are multiple O2 ones and not all indicate a bad sensor. Plus we have no idea if you know what you're doing. You have to look at it from our side. For all we know the smell comes from you rippin' a few off in the car...

but the car sputters at 3000rpm. Also heres a good one I took it for a hard run and it seemed fine. I came back went inside and went back out with the car cuz I had to go to a buddies house and thats when it happened. I was reading the thread Boost! but no Boost!!! and it was about the same symptoms as him but no black smoke. my MAF is good and all my upper pipeing is good but I don't know about my lower pipeing. its like i get torque and then its like someone pulls the plug and its like where did my boost go but the gauge says i'm boosting. no abnormal whistle just the smell and the power loss. Keep in mind that nothing on this car has been changed really I have been cleaning up after the owner doing what i can by doing side jobs and tune ups.

I got codes 21, 41, and 51

Code 21 is an O2 sensor...41 & 51 is the TPS...there is no CPS code, so I don't know why you would say "that's what the codes said".

I can see replacing the TPS and O2 sensor. Replacing the CPS can just induce another problem by not setting cam/CPS timing correctly. I would do as JJ suggested and fix the codes you have 1st vs messing with something that may or may not be an issue. Fix your codes and set your timing per the TSRM..."playing it safe" doesn't make any sense in this case.

And, I'm not your "buddy" ;)

oh opps it said code 12 too which said cps. A few guys said thats due to the tps "possibly" I will fix the TPS and o2 first.

Exactly you are not my "buddy". I am just not happy right you understand right now. Thats how it is with these cars, and yet i still love it and fix it.

Frustration doesn't mean you gotta be disrespectful to 2 of the people that can really help you.

You need to tell them everything up front and give them a better discription. What I am refering to is waiting so long to chime in that had a cps code. Lay it all out for the best chance at getting some help.

you've had two of the best give you shake down, you should be honored. Usually the old timers (no offense) would ignore or offer very little digging in threads that start so poorly.

And, want to replace something that may or may not have anything to do with those deficiencies without eliminating the other possibilities...like wiring ;)
