I am going to go through with this project of building up a 7mgte powered drag car that everyone involved with can rally around and have some fun.
Anyone that was interested before is welcome to jump on board. Let me just say, that this is NOT some selfish ploy by me to get a car built. This is for members who are willing, to do something together, and have fun doing it.

I am going to put a made up value for a finished car at 20k, any money donations, parts donations will be credited to your name and then you now have a percentage of stock in this car. Donate 2 bucks and you now have a 1/10000 stake in this car. Donate a 2 dollar value part and you have the same. In the event that the car where to be sold, project abandoned, or other unforseen mishaps that cause the car not to be used any longer, then each person is entitled to recieve their percentage of the final value of the car in return. Lets say that some day the car where to be retired and or sold for 15,000.00. Then each person who has a percentage, will recieve that percentage, based on the 15,000.00. Some parts maybe on loan, in which those will be returned to the rightful owner. Parts that wear out will give credit towards value only the initial time.

Having said that, I wil keep a list right here of anyone who helps out and the value. Major help will have their names placed on the car and anywhere else that sponsors would be listed.

I'm not sure what you're proposing, exactly... People are supposed to donate parts to have you build a 'community' drag car? But in reality it's going to be your car, titled under your name, and in your garage. Right?

what are the chances of this car actually making it out to the greater 48 states? or atleast the main supra meets, as SILV, chicago meets, texas meets, or PacNW supra nationals?

thats a huge undertaking man because allot of people are going to suck at driving and some are going to push it hard and this car wont last very long unless its a safe tuned power level.

I am going to go over the car this weekend to see how it stands. Then I am going to make a list of items that the car needs just to get up to snuff.
Then I will post a list of items needed.

I also will make sure that anyone who donates anything will get full credit for it, and I will make up some sort of method to place a value on any donations. This will be a members stock in the project vrs the total value of the car. In the event of the project ever being abandoned, each contributing member will receive their stock refunded, as a portion of the value of the car.

People aren't looking at it with an open mind right now (At least not everyone).

Once things start to swing in full effect, it's just going to be a lot of "hey, I have this, I'll send this to you to use" type of deal...

Hopefully we can have a few of our lovely vendors throw some great prices or even donate! (MDC = ) IIRC, Me & Jon decided to possibly use one of the Garretts we carry for a good price...Pretty hefty turbo for what we're trying to accomplish.

Anyways, I have faith in you, Rich! Hopefully once the weather is more drive permitting, you can maybe expect a few of us to come help you out with stuff!

Well you should do a little research before give an opinion Rich is a great guy and gives great deals on parts for the communitity and he is providing his time to do this for sm so Think before you speak . If you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all.:3d_frown:

Catback - I expect a certain amount of negative feedback on this. It is all good.

I want to thank Lester first (1-2-clutch you) for selling this car to me for so cheap. He needed themoney for school and i was in the right place at the right time with money.

This weekend I will get started doing something on this thing. Would like to get it out side and take some real pictures if it ever stops raining.

Well, I have made up my mind! I guess I will be going all out on this thing and probably will take some time to do. Any advise or comment or tech help will be welcomed.

1)Will at first just use a stock 7m block that I will tank, flux, and then deburrif it checks out ok. Later I will think about going as far as sleeving a new 1993 or 1992 block.

2) I will order a set of custom .020 over size cp pistons with the better wrist pin, gas port the rings. Later, on the sleeved block, I may button the skirts of the pistons. Prep a good crank, pauter or carrillo rods, clevites, install some billet caps, arp main studs. new oil pump.

3) Find a good head, install my custom 1.5mm intake, 1mm stainless valves, port and blend the head. Line bore the caps, Install some of my billet 9.7mm or 10.2mm 272 cams, arp studs, titan 2mm headgasket.

4) Custom Rfim, air to water intercooler in the cab. 4" throttle body
5) custom mild steel exhaust header t-6 with a tial waste gate, GT42,45,or 47, or its equal.
6) Motec or AEM ECU
7) GM PG or th400


Going to gun for 1000-1100 hp to start

I am looking for that giant supramania.com decal for the entire side of the car person.

Lets give this car a name, and lets think of a color to paint it, and a color for the Decals and logo's

why sleeve the block? The 7m should be stout enough as is.

Also, you should make a poll for the colors. I like the teal metallic, or a brighter shade of teal.
