I've always played HL on the PC, but I see it's out for 360 also. Maybe I'll pick it up for the 360. I'd like to see it on 65" of HD goodness.

I don't have the game yet, but I have read a bit. I am disappointed at some of the changes they made, especially getting rid of grenades and lack of weaponry. The Medic used to be the only class with the "Super Nailgun" AND the double shotgun. With concussion grenades, regular grenades, speed and the double shotgun I could circle-strafe even a HW Guy and take them out easily.
The super nailgun was great for ducking and peeking around corners, to send a steady stream of nails towards a sentry gun without it detecting you.
The medkit doesn't infect the other team with a spreading plague anymore, but that's okay - those were pussy kills anyways.
Even so, they seem to have gimped my favorite class.

We'll see how I react when I play the game - I may be prejudging it a bit, or basing it off of Team Fortress Classic too much.

Um - demoman has grenades....if each class had too much weaponry - what would be the point of having different classes? It's just degenerate into Q3A with prettier graphics...

:: bzzzz ::

Team Fortress has always had grenades for other classes. The demoman's grenade and pipe bomb launchers were what set him apart. Hand held grenades were the norm.

This release is a departure from the norm.

well, the old versions where VERY spammy...

I gotta get it so I can judge. A departure from the spam happy gameplay to a skill based game would be great...

Well, I finally bought The Orange Box, and I have to say that Portal really impressed me. I have completed all regular levels, the 6 hard levels and have unlocked all achievements except for Long Jump, Camera Shy and the 3 medal challenges [time attack, etc.].
It is addicting, and one of the best puzzle games I have ever played.

As for TF2, the graphics are fun and great, but without each class having specific grenades and lacking some of their old weaponry, I hate to say it, but it just isn't as fun. I also used to commonly top the kills lists with a Medic - it seems like the only class I could stay #1 for kills was with the Soldier.

I experienced a strange phenomenon here though, and I wonder if anyone can enlighten me as to what is causing this, and a possible cure..
I can play TF2 and Portal for hours on end, but 15-30 minutes of Half Life 2 makes me feel sick to my stomach. This coincidence is strange, since in the past I could play Team Fortress Classic for hours, while the original Half Life would make me feel sick.

All games are configured with the same video settings and appear to get the same performance [no noticeable lagging]. I sit the same distance from the monitor as well.

22" WS LCD, games running 1680x1050 [this LCD's native resolution].

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know; I don't want to end up having to take dramamine just so I can play a damn game.

I beat portal, and I was amazed, not to mention laughing my ass off at the "host" and all her comments haha

I played TF2 for about 10 mins the other day for the first time, it was great, little sensitive on the movements but I kknow I can turn it down so its ok.

I gotta admit, Im still stuck on Halo 3 on xbox live with all my co workers and all the hours of shit talking we parade around with haha.

As for HL 2 fading out and waht not... I never got that, Im halfway through Episode 1 and cant wait to find out more and more of whats REALLY going on.... and everyting I can about G Man.... that fucker.
