The top hard radiator pipe I just made for Spawntaker:
On the first attempt to make the top pipe I cut the flange off.
Well this time I just grinded the flange until the pipe came off. A lot cleaner cut.
Tacked together
All welded up and cleaned up

oh man that looks sweet. nah im not going to chrome i might just polish it up a bit. it looks great.

oh and also its going to take me some time to get that in cause im still looking for some 2" blue couplers. i found some on ebay but trying to find some better ones. i went to autozone and they said they dont carry those.
I honestly do not recommend you use the rubber couplers from any auto parts store. You need to get a blue coupler that is 3 or 4 ply silicone. I know for a fact that those rubber couplers wont even hold up to 10psi. I don't know how much pressure our cooling system puts out but I know its more than 10psi. Just a little bit of my advice.

well the ones i saw on ebay are 3ply silicone. i did find some 4ply but a bit more expensive. should i go ahead and order the 3ply or spend out the extra money just to be on the safe side?
Its up to you. I say as long as it is 3 or 4 ply and silicone its fine. I think the stock hose is only 2 ply. So in that case you should be fine with 3 ply. Stock is rubber with ply. The new ones would be silicone with 3ply which is a 110xS better.
BTW I haven't gotten to the brackets yet for the catch can. But I can do that tomorrow when I get off work. I've just had a lot of stuff going on in the past few days with work and family.

sweet then im going with the 3ply. and take your time on the parts. its better to get them done slower and right then fast and all messed up(kinda like sex)lol. building the car i'd rather take my time but driving it is a whole different story.

Well that sucked. I just finished the third nipple on the turbo hard pipe. I couldn't find my high heat paint so I painted it with rustoleum black. When I finished I looked under the 68 chevy and there it was. So I broke out the lacquer thinner, cleaned the pipe, and repainted it with high heat paint and primer.

oh no you painted the wrong part black. i was only going to paint the catch can black. oh well thats cool. if i dont like it we can always use lacquer thinner to clean it right up.
