The First $300 Goes Where?

Tell me where I can get a turbo with 90k miles for $1000 bucks and I'm all ears...no? Didn't think so. I did however find an NA for that price, and it's already passed all but one (crucial) inspection. I found a turbo engine for $799. It's the labor that'll run me on the swap that's pushed back my time table. In the meantime I'm lookin for some quick reasonable ways to improve HP. Thanks for all the advice.

You can't find a low milage turbo for a grand, that's the point. Save the $300/month until you can find a turbo car. And if you are worried about money, don't pay for the labor to do a turbo swap - do it yourself. You are going to need a lot more than a turbo engine to do a swap, but if that's the route you want to go then don't spend any money on engine upgrades for the N/A. Do some suspension work, get decent wheels and tires. That'll suck up 300 a month quick and you will get to use it all right now AND after you swap the new engine in.
