You can't compare to todays standards. The reason they were popular and still are, is because they made an impact in the late 70's early 80's. Why does anyone care about the misfits? because they were one of the first shock rock groups out there. Why do people care about Pink Floyd? Zeppelin?

None the less, There's no need to justify a like or dislike for music, if you like it, you do!

I would consider Sabbath a little more shocking than the Clash.

The Clash has been copied many MANY times...

So, they obviously had a pretty large impact on modern music...

Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica (yes, they influence people), ect have been major to modern rock music.

It's all been done before, and better

Alice Cooper was THE first shock rocker. Clash is tolerable in my book, but I'm no fan of punk. Other than D.R.I. and C.O.C.
