My boss has been talking crap about my car since I got it. Every penny I've spent is called into question. Spending money on the engine, the suspension, intake and exhaust, etc. Also the countless hours I've spent tinkering with it, replacing parts, debating over what's next, planning what to do with it and such.
This guy is a serious Bimmer head. He owns nothing but German cars, with exception of his son's Navigator. 02 X5 4.4i, 89 325i Cabriolet, 97 Audi A4 1.8 Quattro, you get the idea. And he still talks shit about how his 89 325i can beat my Supra any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.
Finally, it's lunch time yesterday. I give him my keys and say "Take my car, I guarantee it's unlike any car you've ever driven." He snatches the keys away and leaves the building. I listen closely as he starts the car, lets it idle for a minute, then takes off. I don't think he was expecting much out of my NA, but he chirped the tires pretty good. Must have been a good surprise.
About 20 minutes later, he walks back into the office, and sets the keys very quietly on my desk and walks away. Guess that shut him up. :biglaugh:
