Backstory.

So I have ALWAYS loved the 65-69 4 door Lincoln Continental sedan. Black on black with white walls. Well I was driving around a few days ago and spoted it. A 66 black Lincoln, 120k miles, black interior. For Sale.

I called the guy and he said he wants 1500 for it and I know I can work this guy to accept 750. It's all original, it would need paint and the chrome to be redone. I figure I could strip the paint off it, and paint it flat black untill I was able to afford a full paint job.

It would basicaly be a restoration as I can afford it. The car does run so I would be driving it as it was being fixed up. If you didnt know, I am planning on selling the Mercedes, so I would pick up a daily driver and then have this car for fun.

The restoration will be partialy funded Via AutoExpress since im buying parts for the car thru them. Once its done, it will be the coolest parts delivery ride EVA!


Ended up buyin the car for 600 bucks.

Well the oil pan is now light Ford blue, and looking way better then when I took it out. The oil pan was leaking pretty bad when I bought the car so this was one of the first things that needed to be fixed. Wasnt really hard, just undid the motor mounts and jacked up the engine. The gasket was a fiber material and hard as a rock. The new rubber one should be much better. I have been soaking the bolts for the pan in parts cleaner so they will be clean as well when I install the pan. I'm going to leave the pan off for a few days to make sure the paint is completly dry, Dont want any scratches when I install it!

I'll reinstall it when the paint is completly dry. I dont want to scratch it.

I also ordered new sway bar endlinks from my work. The lincolns were SHOT. the rubber was hard and missing in places. The Energy suspention ones will work MUCH better, and last WAY longer. They may not be authentic looking but I'm not going for 100 percent here. I also ordered new strut rod bushings from Energy Suspention, the factory ones are covered in oil.

I'd race him for shits and giggles if I ever made it up there. then again he could always cruse down the 1 and visit socal.

well it's a 462, with is a lincoln engine, and its pretty rare. no one seems to make any performance parts for it.

I guess when I rebuild the engine I'll port and polish the head, and intake manifold. You can get custom made camshafts for it but beyond those things theirs not a lot to be done.

I dont know when (or if) i'll rebuild the engine, i guess if it is pretty worn out ill do it, but thats an easy 1.5-2k of cash.

once i get a raise..........
