Well not to much more progress from the last, althought we did find out some not so good news about the motor. like I stated in my first post, i was told that the motor was recently replaced with a j spec one with about only 30k on it. well..... not so much. after tearing it out and breaking it down the block shown at least 100k plus on it. the head gasket was completely blown, ripped and rotted. the crank and rods were lose, also the turbo was shot and had leaked oil through all the pipes. Im so glad i decided to do it right and spend the extra money to machine the block otherwise i would have just did bolt ons. needless to say that wouldnt of been a good out come. i contacted the seller and im waiting on his reply if any. on the plus side though, the block is now in the shop getting hooked up and all parts have been ordered. in the mean time ill be scrubbing up the engine bay, prepping the interior for when my pro sports get here from MDC and flushing some fluids. and as for my ugly tail light covers no one likes. i tried removing them but they are like super glued on. from what i can see is that the tail lights arent in the best shape so i will be needing a whole new set and im over budget. so unless you want to send me some you'll just have to deal with those tail light covers for now. im going to throw up some pics just of the work the guys did and the cond't of internals. pretty bad. but dont worry, it will soon be o so beautiful and bullet proof. im quite excited myself.

just for a side note. seller of the car got back to tonight. said he had no idea of the motors cond't and would not have sold it to me if he knew and was very sorry, but not sorry enought to offer any money back on the purchase to make up for the mis discribed motor that was in it and reminded me that it was sold in as in cond't. you just cant get what you pay for these days. everyone is a crook. to add to that. bought some rc 550 injectors off ebay from a accredited seller. used for 250. i got them and they were not rc's but some oem rx7 denso 550 that are worth about 100 used. told him i wanted a refund so he gave me a bad feedback rating "buyer sent payent then wanted refund, watch out for this guy" wtf is that? Karma will be paying them a visit. Or maby i just suck at shopping

never assume a JDM motor is a "good running 30k miles" its all a bunch of crap... and its really buyer beware on that. but sorry to hear about that, sounds like a fun build!

So kinda bringing my old thread back from the dead just to close it out. A long time ago when i started this I had a dream of being part of this family with a great car to boot. I even went over the 9k limit, ended up to be about 13k in all, everything from big brake kit to an AEM EMS. There really wasnt anything i left out. It was going to be one of a kind with in my area. All i wanted to do with it more than anything was just wash it and let my dad drive it on the nice weekends. All that money came from 2 deployments with the Marines. So the reason is why i never continued with this build was that the guy i went through wasn't who he said he was. It all seemed very ligit and professionally set up. After all the ordering and planning of the car through him, a few weeks later and he up and vanished. Money and the car, I got called back to serve and had to move back to Wisconsin. The incident was reported, but nothing much happened. Just yesterday I get a call from the Ontario Police that they had found my car stripped and left for dead. This was 400 miles away from where i had left it when i lived in Portland. My old neighbor who is a good man, after I said to leave it alone, took his flat bed today from Portland to retreive it. Ill post the new pics when he gets back, but they wont be like the ones we were supposed to see unfortunately. It will sit at his buddies shop untill we figure out what to do with it. The crazy thing is that i only drove that car 3 times with a blown turbo and owned it for about a week before trying to get it hooked up, and i enjoyed driving it and owning it just as much as i did my evo, which i sold for this. Should of just left it the way it was i guess. at least id still have it. anyways, just thought i like to share this with the community, kinda helping me let go and move on, I guess next time i have that much money saved up i should buy a house instead :{

wow ...I m sorry to hear that you got scammed. Its a terrible thing when someone takes your hard earned money. But in all evil, something good always comes out of it if your intentions are good. Im sure the scammer will pay in due time for his crime and you will come out ahead in the future with or without a Supra.
Stay safe!

Hey, all you 'taillight-cover-haters' his MOS maybe a truckdriver, but every Marine is a rifleman first... :biglaugh: Sorry to hear about the loss AND the find. Hopefully, man you can pick up what's left and carry on. Keep an eye on craigslist. Every once and a while something will pop up. Heck, that is how I got my supra for 200$

Well the car never made it back to me, just to much of a hassle. It's half way across the country and I am deploying in May now. I would of liked to see it and post up some pics, but o well. To make my final post on this thread though I would like to just warn everyone about this guy who scammed me. His name is Matthew Mcwilliams. Had I googled his name before trustiing him this would of never happened. His name appears on car threads from cali to the midwest about ripping people off from $100 to $40000. He is a compulsive lier. It's really sad. Right now he is on the run from someone who he owes alot of money to. go figure. Last seen in Ohio. He likes to do his "work" with imports. especially Hondas and Nissans. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else in this community so as always becareful when dealing with people. Here are just a few links to find out more on him
