Ok guys, trying to have as much fun with this as i can b/c after this is done ill prolly never have enough money to do something like this again. So this might not be exciting as Supraholics build up but ill try anyways. Quick story. half a year ago i got out of the Marines and saved up a good amount of cash from my tours to Iraq. Well to tell ya the truth im a evo guy at heart. So right away even though i told my self i wouldnt i bought an 03 gsr. spent another 7k on parts and 4 months later i realized i dont make money anymore and have a 30k car that i cant afford. so i parted with it and am still trying to get rid of the parts. well not 3 days later after selling the evo i got tired of driving around my DD, an old beat up suby legacy. So i hoped on Craigslist and starting wandering around and i came up on a title "Mint cond't 89 Turbo Supra/Targa" $6500. so i clicked and read about it. It turns out a guy with alot more money than me redid this car and spent more time making it new than driving it, well the wife wanted a redone range rover classic so he had to get rid of it. So i went to see it. needless to say i loved it and took it home for 6k. as it sits the body is perfect, one chip that i already touched up, the body has 130k, but every little thing has been replaced with oem parts and the jdm motor has about 30k on it. the interior has maby one rip in it and the seats have the classic worn out leather look to them. besides that its like a new car. Now, as i stated before I'm an evo guy and this car stock is way to slow for me. I need boost and i need it now! so i set my funding cap of 15k and not a penny over. i already spent 6k so i got 9k to gain some power, tighten up the turns and stop it on a dime. I have a good mechanic that i pay in 6ers who is going to help me with everything. First we'll get everything on paper, collect the parts as they come and finally tear into it. So im hoping this will be fun to watch to see what a well planned and wisely spent 9k can turn a stock supra into. I imagine it won't be anything crazy, but wont be a bucket either. the ending posts will be with a dyno. so i will keep this updated as they come for me and make sure to post as many pics as i can cuz i know ppl love pics. (it might be a slow process) heres the car as it is

bc is ok, but you should look at ferrra valve kits(find them at suprastore.com and suprasport.com). i drop a good 2G on just stuff for the head. mind you im doing this on a never over seas E-4 pay not even clearning 18G a year(fuck this shit, make so much more and deal with less shit when i get out and work on trucks). but thanks for being there for the US when no one would. yea, it will be slow to get every thing right but well worth it when you get done. try to find a good block to do all the work on so you can drive that sexy car around(get the girls and more wins than a honda). then when your done you can sell the old motor on ebay for an ez 900 big ones.

No stand alone ? Cams , springs - stock redline ?

the car will never see 7, just building it to have it. and wont be able to afford to break it after its done. just gonna be a sunday car for many more years to come. it is going to be built up to handle some serious hp but proll be tuned at 375-400

stock 7m have been know to take up too like 500-600hp. all they did was cam head work and the fuel cut off(damn that 11psi cut off)

im i over doing it for my horsepower goals? just going for a good hp / reliable ratio. kind of spent to much money though, wanted some left over so i could get the interior redone
