the 2JZ-GE & GTE cranks are the same, correct?

Did you buy it new or used? Did it just slide on with just a litle bit of assembly lube? If it was used then its most likely that someone had it machined. I have installed over 20 of these and everytime, they end up on the lathe.

I come from a land down under
Boiling water and some antiseize on the cranksnout got my ATI on getting it off is a bitch but I hesitate to loosen up the press fit in case it gets the 7M Damper wobble/wander and trashes the crank.

You are right on the 7M wobble thing. On the JZ engines, it doesn't need to be on that tight. I like the fluidampr design over the ATI, It looks like stock and it fits like stock. It doesn't need to be calibrated like the ATI. you set it and forget it. It's like its not even there! :biglaugh: :sarcasm:

brand new from summit.

Just used a little lube and it went on fine.
