So, it is too long, you just bent the hangers instead of letting it fall where its supposed to by using a shorter test pipe...

I based it on the many people who, before I bought mine, warned that it is too long and a shorter test pipe is the best way to fix it.

But, if being a pompous fuck is your prerogative, then I'll just leave it at that.

Got news for ya...the test pipe is the same length as the CAT...you know, the one that's required to pass emissions? If you use a shorter test pipe, it makes it kinda hard to install the CAT when it's time to do emissions on the car.

Calling me names does vividly illustrate one thing...I was dead right concerning your maturity level ;)

Everyone's arguing with you today John. You must have rolled off the wrong side of the bed this morning or something...

Yeah...at least I'm not bored...LOL

Bending the hangers will help pull back the exhaust some. I'm betting this is why John did this ;). No need to cut and weld or fab up a special down pipe at all...

That's exactly why I did it...I can swap test pipe for CAT at will. Come to think of it, I need to put my test pipe back on :evil2:

I really can't understand why you are so adement on telling everyone the NUR Spec isn't too long. You obviously know SOME modification has to be made to make it fit... because its too long. What makes it fit best IMO is getting a shorter test pipe (50 bucks from Mieneke for christ sake) so it hangs where its supposed to. Then if you want to pass emissions, just swap your cat and factory exhaust back on; it will insure you will pass noise levels then as well.

The issue here was the test pipe...that was the focus...I never said the Blitz NUR wasn't too long. There's obviously two ways to do this:

My method:
- Adjust the Blitz to fit
- Use std length test pipe
- Swap test pipe & CAT to pass emissions w/ no adjustment
- Swap back with no adjustment after successful test

Your method:
- Change test pipe length to fit
- Adjust Blitz to accommodate CAT to pass emissions
- Re-adjust Blitz back to fit test pipe after successful test

-or-

- Change test pipe length to fit
- Reinstall the factory CAT back & CAT
- Reinstall Blitz & test pipe after successful test

Basically, you'll be adjusting the Blitz every time the CAT has to go in (or re-installing the entire factory system)...why not do it once and be done with it?
Why do the extra work to re-install the entire factory CAT back?
Why is shorting the shortening pipe "the" way to make it fit?

What I'm offering here is the realization that there is often more than one way to "crack a nut"...it's not about "whose right", it's about "what's right" for the individual need. If the guy asking the question doesn't have emissions, your method may be the best for him. Conversely if he has to reinstall the CAT to do emissions, then my method may be the best. In both cases he has a Blitz NUR...it's his choice to make...there is no anomaly here in the way I installed mine.

BTW - I really don't appreciate being called names by a kid younger than my son...I was fabricating exhaust pipes for cars before you were born ;)

Do you have any pics of the mods you did to your hangers John? I haven't bought an exhaust yet and am still undecided on what I want. BTW, what's the diameter of the piping? I can't remember... 80-85mm?

I really don't appreciate being associated with the typical maturity of an 18 yr old. To me that is quite the insult, believe it or not.

It was pretty simple...just bent the hangers a little to line them up and used the "donut" type rubber hanger supports available at any auto parts place. I can get you some pics, but it'll have to wait until my car is up on the rack again ;)

From memory, the Blitz is 85mm. The Blitz and the HKS Dragger are both good choices, but kinda expensive. Take a look at the CAT back BIC makes...looks pretty high quality.

From what I've read, the Blitz is longer because it was designed for the CA emissions cars. I don't know whether that is fact, but I did ask Randy from BIC to shorten the test pipe I ordered to fit the Blitz system. He said he would need to cut the test pipe 1" shorter.

Also, the Blitz is selling for $510 from Titan; that's where I got it.

not to take business away from sponsors, but a friend pointed out that the complete nur-spec had been available from overboost's store for something like $365. i went to the store shortly after and saw that all had sold out, for that dollar amount. crazy price, if it was legitimate.

At that price, it sounds like that was the axle-back exhaust, not the cat-back.
