The issue here was the test pipe...that was the focus...I never said the Blitz NUR wasn't too long. There's obviously two ways to do this:
My method:
- Adjust the Blitz to fit
- Use std length test pipe
- Swap test pipe & CAT to pass emissions w/ no adjustment
- Swap back with no adjustment after successful test
Your method:
- Change test pipe length to fit
- Adjust Blitz to accommodate CAT to pass emissions
- Re-adjust Blitz back to fit test pipe after successful test
-or-
- Change test pipe length to fit
- Reinstall the factory CAT back & CAT
- Reinstall Blitz & test pipe after successful test
Basically, you'll be adjusting the Blitz every time the CAT has to go in (or re-installing the entire factory system)...why not do it once and be done with it?
Why do the extra work to re-install the entire factory CAT back?
Why is shorting the shortening pipe "the" way to make it fit?
What I'm offering here is the realization that there is often more than one way to "crack a nut"...it's not about "whose right", it's about "what's right" for the individual need. If the guy asking the question doesn't have emissions, your method may be the best for him. Conversely if he has to reinstall the CAT to do emissions, then my method may be the best. In both cases he has a Blitz NUR...it's his choice to make...there is no anomaly here in the way I installed mine.
BTW - I really don't appreciate being called names by a kid younger than my son...I was fabricating exhaust pipes for cars before you were born
