Yea, seems like 90% of the MKIII's that are left are in really sad shape...I often wonder why people don't take care of their cars?

Because it is their beaters. Just look at the price of the car. It is in the perfect rage for a beater.

I come from a land down under
I think it's more the Mk3 was a very expensive luxury GT car that has dropped so much in price it's now affordable .... until someone has to pay to maintain it then they either ignore it or cheap out..

^That's the spirit :D
Like my dad said, he didn't mind spending the $$ parts and labor in stealership, cause every damn day he daily drove the car for 6 or 7 years he enjoyed the ride. Every morning it was a pleasure to sit in it.

Chances are high that finding a well maintained MA70 in the states anymore, is coming from the original owner.

Other than irresponsible, unaware owners of these cars, a majority of the 'trash' A70's out there are cars that have been handed around a lot with owners that just don't realize what they have.

Go track down all the original purchasers of their 1986.5 to 1992 Supra, and ask, to them, what their car should be worth. Besides, it's all just a matter of what part of the world/country you live in.

By most peoples standards, I got my car for an absolute steal, However, to some, I'd have paid way too much.

And there we have it. It was a luxury GT.

look at the C4 vettes these days, they're getting to the same age and are actually in about the same price range as a MKIII...and they're getting pretty bad too...

we're lucky enough that the electronics are pretty damn durable in our cars, as most other cars of this age and tech level half the stuff doesn't work...
