Hey alls...

Just a quick question... I'm in the process of installing the tems system on my project car... wanted to know where the plugs would be located (if the harness has them)... and where the computer is supposed to be mounted.

any pics would be helpful... but words will work just fine...

Ive hit the search button but came up empty...

Thanks

do you have the body harness to connect from the actuators to the ecu and the cluster? also why are you trying to convert to tems? most people with tems un-convert. its a nice system but there are such better options that make tems worthless.

not to sound rude... but its how I want the car... its a trip taking car that needs to be comfortable... yet fun when I want it to be... and since I picked everything up for under $300 incudling eibach springs, and low mileage oem struts (less then 25k on them) new actuators, control box, buttons... etc...... i figured why not... better then dropping $2k on a decent coilover setup that can be adjusted on the fly...

anyways... i do not have a seperate harness for the tems... ... so there is another harness (not part of the body, dash, or ecu harness) that connects the actuators to the control box and cluster? I was lead to believe that most sport model cars had the harness already... just connectors are taped up out of the way...

TEMS computer is back by the antenna.

I have a complete chassis harness from a 88 car with tems

are the plugs part of the body harness or is it a seperate harness all together? I was told that most non tems cars do have the plugs... if this is true... where would they be? I havnt looked as of yet...

eibachs are good dd springs. all tems does is stiffen up the shocks to feel more confort or more sportness.

if your car was bouncy and noise before and uncomfortable then you prolly need new shocks. all tems does is make it go between soft and some what hard by adjusting the spring oscillations.

i have a tems car that now has bilstein height adj shocks with eibachs. it is nice and smooth around town but i also would like it to be more stiff for corners. i prefer a stiffer spring.

even if you have tems it is not, oh i press sport and it automatically goes into sport, it takes about some time to get into that position. its not hit the button on fly and im there.

if your looking into performance get some good springs and good shocks.

good shocks make a world of difference.

if your hell bent on having tems on a non tems car you have a lot of work to do.

im not bent on it by any means... I just like the option... and I know its not instant... however it does work and work well from my understanding... the struts/springs are already installed and they already made a decent improvement on handling and ride quality... plus I have everything here to do the rest of the install... I may have to get a body harness... but thats not too difficult of a swap... a weekend project im sure...

I know I could have bought some decent struts and springs... which I consider eibach a decent spring... but considering I gave a little over $200 for the springs mounted on these struts with new actuators... I dont think I went wrong... considering the springs are more then that new by them selves....

This car isnt my corner carver... its a daily driver that gets taken on road trips... and some of those road trips include some mountain roads which I like to have a little fun on... so the TEMS w/ the eibach springs and some other suspension goodies.. (prolly poly bushings and swaybars) will make for a nice all around setup.

Anyways... I'm just wanting to know where the plugs would be if the harness in the car happend to have them (some of the non TEMS cars do have the plugs... ) I just need to know where to look so I can find out if I need a harness or not.

Thanks
-Chris

yes. shocks dampen the spring oscillations. by adjusting the valving in the shock it adjusts how smooth or hard the ride is.

they will be close to the shock towers. you may not have them and might have to get a different body harness.
