temp gauge!

alright, so i was wondering where does a stock mk3 supra turbo's temp gauge bounce around at?

i got a new thermostat and the gage stays about half way, but at times will go to 3/4 sometimes almost to H. then a few seconds later it will come back down. it just scares the crap out of me sometimes, but is this where they bounce around at?

mine has NEVER gone more than half.. its *always* right at half or a tiny bit below.. and i have a newer thermostat as well.

hmm well this might be a problem then...i know that in my car, it sounds like you can hear the anit freeze slushing through, so i wonder when the thermostat opens, if it lets in the pockets of air, cuz the anit freeze hasnt filled it all in yet??

i have that waterfall sound too.... but i have tried to raise my car up and bleed the air out, doesnt seem to work.

checked for cracked and leaky hoses.

you might have a VERY slow leaking head gasket...

my compression is 165-170 across all cylinders. still think i might have a "slow leaking HG" ??

weird thing is the waterfall sound is only sometimes.

well i had just replaced the head gasket with a metal one, so i really hope it isn't. but here soon i need to go back and re tighten the head bolts so i will then check the compression. also, if it is slowly leaking, it is not throwing any white smoke out the back.

and about the waterfall thing, i too get it sometimes...not all the time but enough to really take notice
