Redacted per Title 18 USC Section 798
The sender is nearby, located behind the power steering tank on the engine side of the thermostat housing. Properly called the water outlet housing. It's remotely possible you disturbed it. If you find it plugged in unplug it and momentarily ground the wire to the engine with the key on while someone watches the gage. It should go high. If it does the sender is bad.

Ok, according to that pic. The coolant intrument temp guage sensor is before the thermostat. My point being that the temp gauge is reading the temp of the coolant after it leaves the radiator and goes through the engine block before the thermostat. The reason I ask is because I thought I had read some posts where the temp gauge on the 7m was crap because it was reading the temperature in the radiator and not the true temp in the engine block.
Am I making any sense:aigo:
Great pic by the way I am saving that one to my files.
