Tell me the Goverment is not out of Control

Its a sad day when the goverment hinders every attempt to create better more fuel effecient cars. Why do we as Amercans put up with this stuff. I use to believe that the Middle East was getting richer while America gets deeper in debt but now it stand that both parties are at fault and something needs to be done.

It will never happen, Its just another attempt to make Bush look like hes out to hurt the environment while his oil buddys roll in the dough... Kind of like when there was a bill on the table during the election to bring back the draft, Kerry tried to use this against bush, unfortunately it was 2 democrats that proposed it.

ya thats just a silly bill, there is already a 1500 tax break for purchasing a hybrid in wa state... but at the same time there is a 25k tax break for purchasing the fullsize f350?? explain that ...thats the oil companies padding the lawmakers pockets with cash...

Sorry, but Canada is just one step away from becoming a socialist state. (Actually, you guys in the Eastern part are already there.)

Watch your taxes go up, and your level of service, or return on your investment go down. (Like in the Netherlands, your taxes exceed 50% of your income, and yet if you have a problem, get in line, you might get a surgery date in a few months. SO sorry you died waiting for that surgery, here have a state paid for cremation.)
And let's make car ownership so expensive you can't afford one. Then when you need to use the train or a bus, well, we know your not a car owner, so we are going to charge you out the ass for those tickets as well.

Then you get a free house.
Then you get free to spend money.
They even give you an allowance for some pot to smoke. (SO nice.)

And what has this produced? A huge amount of lazy Netherlanders who will not work because there is no benefit to working v/s just taking the dole and smoking the weed.

Most of the time, buying a vehicle "for business use" means that you buy it and get a huge tax break on it just because you put a magnetic advertizement for that company on the vehicle. In some places, it's a joke.

ya i know, thank god i'm in the west, but they surely do waste a lot of money that i have no access to because i am not a useless bum. i don't think most of europe or even japan would be much better. maybe the caribbean is the place to be.

Can you please explain where you came up with this. yes their taxes are high, but they are that way for a reason. They do not have to pay for medical coverage, you just walk in a get whatever you need fixed. I know from first hand experience because the last time I was visiting my family I got hurt and had to go to the hospital and I didn't have to wait and even though I am from the states they didn't care because my family pays so much in taxes. It might just be me, but there are a lot less lazy people there than there are here. My whole family came from nederlands and they are not lazy one bit. My grandfather inveted the security tags on the clothes you buy, does that make him lazy because he is worth millions? My dad is vice president of city bank in long island city, does that make him lazy? Come on, there are way more worthless people in thestates and that is because we do not stress education like they do in europe. As for the government giving people money to smoke pot, please explain where you got that idea. The only place where marijuana is legal is in amsterdam so does the government give money for people to travel to amsterdam from all over the country to get high, no. I just do not understand where you get some of these things from and I am not trying to pick on you, I am just wondering where you heard all of this as I have not been over to the nederlands in 7 years(but I am going in 5 days!!!) so if I am wrong please inform me.
