I own a 90 turbo with targa and all the other goodies, I know lot of guys here have thier lil special deals and love the hardtops or the NA for some ungodly reason but IMH it's not a supra if it's not turbocharged with a targa or at least the sunroof like some 92's sport, haha.

I take mine off all summer, if it rains I don't drive it stays in garage. In the spring and fall it's off as long as it's not below about 55, haha I man up and wear hoody. I've gotten ancy after winter months of not being able to remove it so on rare times its 45 or 5o in jan here I have had it off before and bundled up, LOL it was so worth it.

IN THE END:

Buy one with a turbo engine (7MGTE, 1JZGTE or 2JZGTE) and a Targa Top or flat out don't buy one!!!! IMHO :)

Glad I'm not the only stupid one!

I did it back in november at night just for the hell of it, it was only around like 3-5 degreese celcius. Should have worn a jacket or at least a long sleeve shirt :nono:

The car definetly flexes with it off on a rough road but otherwise its awesome, mine doesn't leak, previous owner did get new seals though.

and no, dont try and make your hardtop a targa, it will not work, you could install a sunroof?

You surely cannot be serious???

Also, if you don't have money to go and look for a Supra, you don't have the money to own and maintain one.

Seriously its not worth the time or money and your just going to end up with a crappy looking finish unless you pour thousands of dollars into it.

Supra's aren't that expensive nor are they all that rare, I got my turbo targa for 1250 and there were several others around that I had the choice of. And before you say oh you must live in a major city or on in the south/west states; I live in Nova Scotia Canada, possibly one of the most deprived places of motorsports and sports cars around.

There is absolutely no reason to try and frankenstein a targa onto a hardtop.

i am serious..almost anything can be done to a car just depends if you do it right and you have the right skills. ive seen convertable trucks with a power roof that folds back up, now if you can do that then a targa would be a piece of cake...and yes i do have the money to own and maintain a supra and i was looking to rebuild the car too.. just dont want to spend all the money driving far away to pick one up and i wouldnt want to put all the miles on it driving it back so i would haul it and that would be even more exspensive in gas so i guess in some cases it wouldnt be worth it, it just depends on the condition of car...
