Mine had it too. Please for the love of god, if you ever need to fix a leak from the seals, don't use silicone. Mine won't seal properly now because I wasn't able to remove all the gunk out of the small creases.
I'm planning on getting new targa seals this year as well. (As well as new hatch seal and tail-light seals)

I've got new seals (came with the car) but I've also heard about the hose mod and want to know more about it
Anyone ever tried Wurth Rubber Care? It's silicone free and is pretty amazing. I've used it for years and it keeps the rubber soft, supple and looking like new.
