Targa Top front bolt question

I stripped mine out putting it back on. Guess it was pretty rusted or something. Anyways, could you guys point out on the link from Champion Toyotaworld's site of the front bolt that holds down the targa top? I really appreciate it and thanks for looking.

P.S. I'm also going to be ordering the seals for the targa top. I know that I need parts #4 and #5. But which seals for the actual targe top on the pass and drivers side?

yes, that's it...

what order did you tighten, as I haven't seen one strip unless it was tightened in the wrong order..

driver's side rear, passenger side rear (these aren't critical to order), driver's side front then passenger side front. The order of the front ones is critical as the passenger side has a slider in it to allow from some play, if it's tightened first, the driver's side won't line up and it strips (eventually)

i didn't strip the targa bolt but i stripped targa thread where the bolt goes in .


Front targa seal: 63251-14061 $51.66
Rear targa seal: 63252-14032 $46.22
Pass side targa seal: 62383-14052 $23.18
Driver side targa seal: 62384-14052 $23.18

those are the part numbers for the seals.
i was going to get new ones but i just stuck to the ones i needed.

gene: helicoil is your friend....mine is helicoiled because the previous owner was a moron and tightened the driver's side last...

there is a specific tightening sequence for a reason, I just wish toyota made it more of a critical point...

Very cool guys. I really appreciate it. I did tighten it in the right order. I got lazy and use a drill with the special allen key and I apparently had the torque setting on the highest setting. Like I said, it was rusted out and finally gave way.

GSW-Thanks for the part numbers. Where did you go to order the parts? Champion parts online? I'm going to order then shortly.
