For all that have, and use, targas with a sub in the back what type of box do you have it in I have a 10" pioneer sub that I have had in every car I've owned but with the targa in the back the box won't fit. How do you deal with this, what dimensions of a box are you using. I really want to get my sub in and working the stock speakers would sound decent with a sub but they just have too much mid and high with no low end, not suprising with what is it 3.5", 4", and 4.5" speakers(I think thats right).

Pics of your setups would be awesome as well, I haven't had much luck finding pictures or anything to help with this one.

The car even has wiring already run for an amp to the hatch(which I will use to pull new wires through since I don't know the quality of the current wiring) so it will be real easy once i figure out a setup for the sub.

i had an alpine sub that required low cu/ft in a truck box. had it on its back and the deep part pushed up to the back of the seat. targa fit in there just fine. the only problem is some subs are too deep to run in a truck box, so you may need to make/buy a spacer to get clearance. a pioneer sub should fit just fine tho.

I'm currently makeing a sub box for my car. It will sit in the spare tire well and a false floor put in to help give it a clean look. The sub the box I'm using now fits fine it just looks like crap. It will maybe sit a few inches above the floor so I can get good air space. The targa fits just fine.

There are several options that work. You can build a box to fit between the rear shock towers. You can build a box that fits in the spare tire well as mentioned.

Both of these retain the spare tire:

Trent built this box a few years ago, it's now in Luigi's car, it's shallow, yet has the volume needed.

This is how I got around it. I used 2 6" Bazooka tubes, lined them with dyno mat and mounted Rockford Fosgate singles in them.
