Targa on or off?

i don't like to be out of sight of my car for any length of time,top on or off.lets face it most supra owners have more into there car than the blue book value.i've never tried to get it appraised,but i'm sure that would be a joke

I HATE TAKING THAT THING ON AND OFF. I'll typically leave it off for a month straight and then put it on for a week or two to shake things up. I do the same thing others do though when parking it somewhere, if it's gonna be an hour or two, I lock her up, put window up, and sit the targa on top.

When i pop mine, its usually for over an hour0-long drive. But other wise, if im outside or in a good neighborhood its off. Other than that, its on.

depend on area, how long etc. I like to put it on most of the time and bolt the front two a 1/4 - 1/2 way down. This way it cant be removed, but it doesn't take forever to bolt and unbolt.

targa >hardtop I don't care how much better a hard top handles nothing beats cruising with the top off.

I once left my roof out of my car for the whole time I was at work, it's nice to not have to get off work and worry about getting the hot roof off the car and into the back.

I also completly agree with the second part, there is nothing like crusin' around roof off and seeing all the stars above you. I can't wait till summer :icon_bigg

I agree, who cares if a hard top handles a bit better - I'm in Australia where it's summer at the moment. 30 to 40 degree C every day. Too bad my car won't be running for another week or so.

I can't wait to enjoy cruising around with the top off!

nice....i love mine off, but i really want a mid strut bar...the one for a four point harness

all i do to set the alarm is use the key once i'm out and the door is shut.....but when i come back it almost always sets it off buy unlocking the door :dunno:

Lets say your driving with the targa off. Do you guys put your top back on after you park or do you leave it in the trunk? If you leave it off are you afraid of someone opening your hood or trunk and stealing suff? I just got my mk3 recently and was curious on what you guys do.

Like they all said, it depends on how long your gonna be away (up to you and your security issues.. if any) If you set the security alarm, they cant get into your car by opening the doors and if they open the hood, the alarm should go off. I found that out the hard way.

Its up to you and how you feel leaving your car open top. Just set the security by hitting the locking switch before closing the door.

Depends on the time frame of me not being at the car and the area. More than 5-10 minutes it's on and tightened a little bit

i got an alarm that has a sensor for the cabin.. so i have my roof off alot soon as someone sticks their hand like half way down the glass the alarm goes off its good stuff.

iirc there is like a 10dollar mod to wire a motion sensor into your stock alarm......if anyone is worried about the stocker not being enough protection.....10bux....i mean damn thats a cool mod

personally i would like to do it but i dont use my alarm as much as i used to so it would prolly just piss me off to have to go reset it cuz some jerk is burning out in the parking lot or smacking everyones car...

I never take my top off, if i do its off for days at a time (and itll sit in the garage when its not being driven), of course ide never park my car at a mall/theatre lot in fear of many things. I wont even take it to school, work sometimes because i can see it, and i have one of those pager alarms... Is there something wrong with me?

I usually leave it off for a few days in the summer. I guess it all depends which neighborhood you park your car and how long do you plan to park your car. I think it's great to have a targa cover. Does the job and it's fits in my back seat. I have a targa cover to keep dust, bird duties, cat piss, and all the nasties out of my car. Take a look.
