I LOVE the open air feel. My daily driver is a Solare Rag Top.

I never had the problems with my Sport Roof that others had. I did add the DoLuck bar and that may have even improved things.

At the end of the day... I want people flying over in planes to see how much fun I'm having driving my cars.

Just depends on personal taste, I like the targa since I'm in southern California and I can pop it off during the summer. It hardly rains here either, so leaks aren't exactly on my mind. As for the weight difference.. I can always add more power to make up for the weight. The targa offers a certain level of comfort for me, so I'm just going to keep the options and enjoy it for what it is.

Uhm I have a sunroof lol.. darn all you, i have had now, 3 Targa top 1 hardtop. I don't care which one I get, if you have a hardtop though you don't have to worry about leaks :)

Hmm...thought it was the other way around. But anyway, I have a targa as well and it add to the look of the Supra that separates it from the rest. :bigthumb:

(would love a powered sunroof though...) LOL

If my targa is slightly loose, I can feel the handling difference... infact, my girlfriend in the passenger seat can tell if the targa is loose :O

I've retorqued the subframes, but I fear that a few of the bolts are ceased up and won't tighten properly. I'll fix it eventually.

But, for a fun car and DD, Targa FTW! Nothing beats hauling down the highway with the targa out and the wind around you with 12 miles of headroom.

For a track car, get a hardtop.

the fact that the Supra came in targa form was the only reason I got it. Same with my girl's blue Supra. I was going to get a Supercharged AW11 MR2 before I got the Supra for the sole reason of being t-top.

You shouldn't be driving more than 50 on the street anyway, so targa flex is really not a big issue. If you are trying to race your car on the street you shouldn't even be on the road, so why do 80 lbs matter so much?

Speaking of flex, try putting your top back on after parking your car in a sloped, uneven gravel driveway. I did that (the driveway was really uneven) but the top was impossible to get on in that spot, since the front and back didn't line up.

I still love my targa though. :D

i love 91 sunroof, the pre 91s are just not as good imho. my brother's targa is nice but for how often he uses it its worth it to just push a button and have the nice open air feel.

ps i had a 90 hard top and at the time a targa looked really good....

Ok I had 2 targa supras. My big question is why do people love them and, kill for them. After owning targas I want a hardtop lmao

I've had 1 hardtop, 1 sunroof, and 2 targas. Targa wins! They add resale value. They do take a bit of practice to remove and install quickly. And if it starts raining, your best bet is to drive faster ;)

AND, most importantly, much easier to flirt when your top is off :naughty:
