Any inside trick i need 2 know? The engine is pulled, everything is off, pressure plate, clutch disk, just having problems taking the flywheel off. The usual, when turning to take a bolt off, the whole crank turns. I wanna just wedge a bar against it stop it from turning but I'm afraid that it will mess up the teeth.

I just want to hear how did you guys take yours off? I don't have access to a torch to heat up the bolts but i know thats one way.

Thanks in advance.

Use the search engine...

What i did is bolted a chain to a few of the flywheel bolts, then strapped to something else (i used the engine stand) then make sure it's well supported (i ratchet strapped the engine stand to a nearby cherry picker against the direction of torque) then use a LONG breaker bar.

Thats what I did considering both an impact wrench and a torch did nothing

Let some good penetrating lube such as PBlaster soak for at least a day

*WHOOPS* those were directions for taking the Crank Bolt off!!

You could use similar methods though...

IIRC I used a long flathead that my friend held, wedged between the other bolts, to loosen each one with a impact wrench (make shift impact wrench: use a hammer on the end of your hand-wrench)

Don't remove any until all are loosened a touch

I generally use a crow bar diagonally across two of the Pressure plate bolts (screwed in quite a bit of course. Be prepared to replace those bolts if too much force is needed. Then turn the crank until the crow bar is wedged against something to stop it. Impact wrench will help once you get to this point.

Mine came off easy...I just used a bigass impact wrench.....you couldnt turn the flywheel by hand hard enough to hurt the teeth on the flywheel trust me....the flywheel is bullet proof so don't worry.

Yeah, if you have air, I would do that. Or take either a pry bar or a big screw driver and put it between two of the bolts on the flywheel and hold it while you lossen others. Or you might be able to put the crank bolt on and have someone hold that still and do it that way, but I'm not 100% sure that will work. Or, what I did, if you are replacing the flywheel, or if you are careful, take the prybar or big screwdriver, stick it through a hole in the flywheel and then under the block to hold it still (thats how I broke the crank bolt loose once), and that should do the trick, those bolts aren't on their tight enough to bend the flywheel, I don't think. Hopefully that helps.
