HI,

I fitted this black console in my car. The console has the two 52mm holes for the gauges and I have yet to make the cutout for my single din stereo and other electronics.

It fits really well. Also notice bondo and resin all over my interior. My interior is the pits.

Anyway I wanted you guys to have a look and how it fitted in the car.

Cheers,
Roy

Looks very nice, I love how dark and glossy it is. Makes me wish I had fiberglass skill/experiance.

Are you going to start making these to sell again?

Yes, I am going to start selling the consoles again.
At the moment I am working on finishing a orange kevlar/ carbon hybrid and a black carbon fiber for 2 SM members and will post pics when I am done.
I will have to order more carbon tonite or tommorrow.

Cheers,
Roy

I just paid for one of these items myself. I intend to customize mine as well for all my favorite gadgets. Debating on color though, first thought was gloss black, but now Im not sure. I notice in your pictures the only magor drawback to gloss black - the surface needs to be flawless smooth to really show it off. Since Im no stranger to filler I may try to go for a flawless surface...or wuss out and paint it red or some other color.

Either way, I'm looking forward to getting it and letting my imagination go wild!

Roy, you need a black face 89+ climate control BAD! And a 5-speed would be nice too!

The console looks bad ass tho. I too like the glossy look.

Lol...yeah you noticed...My a/c is shit....I will change to R154 tranny in 2 months time.

WeezL:

When I pop the parts off the mold it is smooth but I usually sand using 230 grit. I add primer and then use 400 grit. Then I spray black gloss and then sand with 1000 grit. When I put down the final spray it comes out very smooth.

In my pics you cannot really see the smoothness, but if you had one in your hand you will notice how very smooth it is.

Polobai :
Yep....Did not give up on your console. I will pm you when I am done with it.

Cheers,
Roy

No tte I wasnt knocking the finish or the sanding. What Im refering to is not the smoothness of the finish but the flatness of the shapes. Its to be expected, I mean the original piece is rubber, its not like you arent going to get waves and uneven surfaces. Its just that any bodyman knows, if you are shooting it in black it needs to be perfect. Any uneven surfaces stand out like a sore thumb.

Its not in way shape or form menat to detract from the product. Hell, did you see how fast I snapped it up?! But yeah, it makes me question painting it gloss black, thats all

Thats true...Any defects show up in gloss black. And I knew you meant good.
I will ship yours out this morning.

cheers,

Hey TTE you may remember talking with me a while ago, Im still debating having you do a console and a-pillar for me :)

Would you mind reminding me of the prices?
No ash tray, 2 60mm gauges in it's place, cig lighter hole must stay, hazard switch can be redone, single din radio opening, 2 60mm gauges under it.

Triple a-pillar pod also.

Before anyone even says, "dayum that's alot of gauges!!"
AFR
Intake temp
Exhaust temp
Fuel pressure
Boost
Oil temp
Oil press
water temp (needs a home still)
Voltmeter (needs a home still)

That is alot of gauges. Do what Im doing, buy 52mm oil pressure, water temp and voltmeter and put them in the right three gauge spots in the dash pod. Move your stock fuel level to the left spot.

Hi,

You will need to check your dimensions for the single din stereo and the
60mm gauges under it because it will not fit in the stock recess.

Cheers,
Roy

I haven't sen it posted so I'll ask.

Console w/ hazard switch still there, 2x60mm gauges , single din stereo and can you do something for turbo timers between the gauges and the stereo?
