I have looked around, but haven't found EXACTLY, what I am looking for so I'm going to ask.
Alot of people convert there pre89 to 89+ rear ends.
Id like to do the opposite.
I have an 89, and I like the tri colored tails of the pre89 more than the solid red w/ little bit of white of my 89+.
Can I put the older lights on, but keep the 89+ center garnish?

and just to cover everything,

What about 89+ lights with a pre89 center section?

No.

Well, with caveats. If you do enough fabrication work, you can do whatever you can imagine. But the pre '89 lights and the '89+ tail lights are different sizes. They have the same outside edge and height, but they're not interchangeable.

I assume you mean the molding, and it may be possible, but it's going to require cutting...

Nope, won't work. I remember seeing a picture years ago of someone trying it out and it doesn't fit right.
