Tacho not working after GA70 1JZ conversion

Hey all
Just about finished converting my ga70 to 1jz/r154. Got everything sorted except the tacho... Mine is a jap import so all the wiring colours are the same as from my half cut, so wiring is all good. I even tried running a wire straight from the IG pin on the diagnostic plug straight to the tacho and it still didnt work... no movement at all. Has anyone got any ideas coz im stumped...

Im from australia so both my car and the cut are RHD so very little wiring work was needed

I know the ma70 na tach wont work with the 1jz without changing the resistors but the turbo tach should work fine just hook it up. here is the tach conversion link. http://www.4cefed.com/tech/natachchanges.jpg

1GGTE tach should have worked with the 1JZ, however a 1G-GE or 1G-FE/1G-E might not work, in which case, swap one in..

I used the 1ggte tach originally, but when it didnt work I used the 1jzgte tacho that i got from the halfcut
