WOW, I can't believe I'm done... it's taken my a few months with limited continuous time to work on the supra, but the time has really paid off. I put the final touches on my car and started her up Saturday morning. BOOM, massive oil leak. What I had tried to do was put the return flange on the block first, then attempt to tighten the hose fitting to the block with the turbo on the manifold bolted to the head. :nono: Didn't catch, and didn't seal... oh well.

Pulled the whole thing off again, and put the hose onto the fitting then bolted it to the block as one piece. Worked.

So anyway... so far, I am EXTREMELY IMPRESSED... lag aside, this thing HAULS major asshole.
I haven't even hit full boost yet, but 9psi feels like pure death. :)

I'll get a video up asap, but for now here are some pictures.
My heat wrap smoked pretty bad, and it made me nervous but it's completely normal.

Also... the thing is a monster... I'm all over the road at 9psi. :aigo: here is a sound clip of the turbo and manifold.

I made the video about 2 minutes of driving it... didn't want to get on it.
Made it to prove to everyone what a tube manifold sounds like a 7M... (it sounds like a beast)

:)

I hit 0psi manifold press. in the vid.

Psyched to hear your finished Brent! Yea, you and Malloy need to make a drive up to MD for a meet. I will personally put you up here at my house and feed you. Heck you guys can even put your cars in the garage for the time you are here.

It sounds so "clean" compared to stock. You can tell its a equal length manifold....the exhaust note is not that "choppy" sound you get with the stock!
??? Brent has an equal length header on his 7M ???

I'd really like to see a pic of that! ;)

LOL I think what you meant to say was "You can really hear the difference with a tubular header over a cast iron log"

Tube headers have a "ring" to em that's very distinctive!
(and sometimes annoying)

You got me IJ. Haha!

Its late and I cant seem to get tired....ate to much:biglaugh:

Yes, I love that ring. It sounds "tuned".

My fathers equal length crawford Z car headers have that ring to them. At first my father didn't know what it was ( I try to teach him about cars, I practically told him what to buy and why for his 350z ) but I soon found out with my eagle ears that it was the headers.
