swapping jdm engine and trans question.

I've decided to swap my jdm 7mgte and r154 setup into my 88. My 88 is a 7mgte with an auto trans. My original plan was to replace the head gasket and drive it while I build my jdm setup. But I'm moving to Texas soon and I won't have anywhere to store the engine. So I'm going to pull the engine and auto trans out and sell them. Now my question is what do I do about the clutch safety/neutral safety switch? I'll be using my jdm manual ecu. Is all I have to do is bypass the neutral safety switch if I were just doing a manual swap. Or do I have to find the wires in the back of the ecu for the clutch safety switch and jumper those.

Are you keeping the harness from the manual engine or using the auto harness with the 5speed?

I put an engine harness from an auto into my 5 speed. If this is what you're doing you can just bypass the neutral start switch by connecting two wires. You can also wire up a neutral start switch to those wires if you want one.

This is the plug off an engine harness that goes down by the starter. If it's an 88 it should be the same colour. To bypass the neutral start switch just plug the B-W (black-white) and B-L (black-blue) together. Also you'll need to connect the reverse lights.
