I just upgraded my old stock suspension to kyb gr2s and eibachs all the way around. everything is in but on the rears when i went to tighten the center nut, and once i got it down tight (not that tight) the rod of the shock starts to turn with the nut. Now i am unable to get either one tight enough or get them off to put a washer on or something. Anyone ever have this problem or have any ideas. Thanks

I dont know if this is the best method, so you might want to wait for others to respond. I used a pair a vicegrips around the shaft using a rag as a buffer not to scratch the shaft.

There must be a better way????

oh yeah also make sure the suspension is as compressed as you can get it. You can use a jack under the a arm to compress it.

It's the best way that I know of. Using an impact gun usually helps but not needed. Make sure to put the vice grips as far to the top of the shaft that you can. GL.

putting the new one's on?

either they're already at the right torque, but iff not, the tip of the bolt is usually a smaller size so you can use 2 hand wrenches... or it has an allen head in it

I had the kybs also, i think it is a design flaw with the threads being too short. just use a few mm of washers, it will be fine, i did it.

with the vice grips held down get the socket or wrench in place and give it a good whack with a rubber mallet. Its like a poor mans impact gun effect.

Rent a spring compressor to take the tension off of the upper mount and then you should be able to use a set of pliers/vice grips to take the upper mount off. But generally you shouldn't use washers. With a spring compressor sinched down enough you should be able to finger tighten the upper bolt all the way down to the end of the threads.

Or use an impact gun. That worked best for me.

all new ones have a allen or small nut on the top of the thread.
