Definitely have a breaker bar on hand, that was the only problem I ran into that I remember. Had to make a run to sears for one, which has since seen a lot of use.

Just get a good grip on the spring and mount, and the strut shoots out a few feet when the nut pops. I'm not recommending this unless you're an experienced mechanic.

ANYONE ELSE NOT SUGGESTING SPRING COMPRESSORS, PLEASE KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND SOME PEOPLE HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ENOUGH TO TRY SOMETHING THAT STUPID. THE OP HAS ALREADY INDICATED HE DOESN'T HAVE THE EXPERIENCE, SO PLEASE LET'S NOT LET THIS BE HIS LAST ONE.
