Nope, that's 3.4L 5VZ-FE from a Tacoma. Kinda cool to see it stuff into that engine bay. Not much power, but gobs of torque. :evil2
3700 seems like a Hell of a deal.. for a swapped supercharged supra. Looks in great shape although my taste does not like te paint still good shape
Outside can easily be fixed. Since he recently painted the car then all the body work should be straight. Scuff and blow whatever color you want.
The intake piping was spray painted silver... There's a lot of fail there, and I don't think that engine is all that great (V6 is much weaker than an I6).
I have driven and swaped the 3.4 into various things, and a few with the supercharger...Not very impressive, I dont think it would hang with a BPU supra
Meh, I've driven a S/C 3.4 Taco, 4.0 FJ cruiser, and a 5.7 Sequoia. Before and after; none felt 'faster' they just got up and moved more quickly. More get-up-and-go if you would.
Comparing them to a Supra wouldn't be a fair comparison because of the way the power is delivered. The Superchargers feel powerful/torquey right away, where the turbo feels like its not even there until you feel it hit/kick in. IMO, all of the 4wd S/C trucks would leave a Supra in the dust, transitioning into a game of catch-up on the Supra's part. Some people will always think a V engine is better, for whatever reasons, there are tradeoffs in every situation.
I say kudos for the unique-ness of the swap, but I'd really like to see if it was worthwhile (track/drag/whatever)

Not quite- Back in the late 80's/ early 90's the Camry shared the 3VZ-E engine (3.0 SOHC 12v turd) with the Hilux and 4Runner trucks, but in 93/94 they went to the 1MZ-FE (3.0L DOHC 24V) series of engine, where the trucks got the 5VZ-FE (3.4L DOHC 3.4L) around 96.
VZ= Truck engine- less comfy, more torque
MZ = Car engine- smoother, less torque

Every time I see a car with paint and interior like this I have to wonder why. What compels a person to paint a car to look so gaudy? Is it a racial thing? Is is a color blind thing? Brain damage maybe?

I'll leave the engine swap alone. The VZ engines aren't horrible.
