Well then, I suggest the following:
trd springs, tokico 5ways, st swaybars and a full urathane bushings with 17''x9.5 rear and 8.5 front wheels.

Aside from that, you might want upper/lower front and rear frame braces, and put the car on a diet- I.E.: remove the spare tire, unused seats, airconditioning, swap power steering for a manual rack.

I come from a land down under
I have the full house on my car Koni Coil Overs, Whiteline Bars, Full Urethane bushes, SS Traction Bars, 265-285/35/18's and while it's a huge improvement over stock it's still handicapped by the sheer mass of the Mk3.

very true, its like having a boat on the road.
i have tokico struts/spings, HKS upper pillow ball mounts, st sway bars, jic lower tie bar, du-luck rxb, and front/rear stb's. it is much better than stock but what can i say, "we are all working with a monster"

I did a heap to my car when I got it like Koni's Springs and so on and it was still scarey to drive.... I then had a set of sway bars made and it transformed it :)

I had a 1977 Mitsubishi Lancer with Leaf rears and basic suspension mods that crapped all over the Supra in the twisties as it was under 1000kgs.

The Mk3 has a very sophisticated suspension layout and responds well to tuning the settings available.

wow man, i know bushings are expensive but i gotta say there not worth that much, i mean my mr2 kit was smaller but this is not worth 500 more than this kit imho

i dont think ill get bushings unlesss i can find some around 300, also i am going with coils and sway bars

Good luck with that. Such a kit doesn't exist. But if you are going to upgrade a bunch of stuff, get bushings for the upper a-arms (f/r) and lower fronts - then replace the traction arms, et al in back. It will be alot more than a bushing kit though...

so what do u all reccomend for sway bars?

do u really see a huge difference from an upper end springs/struts setup vs a coilover setup? ive got TEMS and i doubt there are any coilover setups that retain the ability to keep the TEMS. better off just going with coilovers and deleting the TEMS?

Whiteline adjustables are commonly used and easy to get. The last quote i heard for those was around $175cdn per bar.

Check here if interested...3 days left...

I had H&R's and Tokico HP's on mine...ride quality = crap but handled pretty darned good. Got rid of them as I got sick and tired of polishing the city streets and curbs with my frame rails.

Replacing the bushings in a 20year old car is critical IMHO. When my MK3 goes back on the road I'll have all the bushings replaced; Whiteline Adjsutables and some form of coilovers...haven't decided yet...seeing it's a couple of years before the car see's the light of day I dont' have to decide yet but I'm leaning towards JIC's...good luck.

I can tell you the #1 thing that completely changed the way my car felt...

do the regular maintenance, I.E. RETORQUE THOSE DAMN SUBFRAME BOLTS

my fronts where downright SCARY loose...

good tires, doing what I said above (also solved a lot of the targa shimmy with the top off), and cleaning out the power steering system made it a whole new car...

I will be getting coilovers, swaybars, bushings, and many of the better bars for the rear suspension when I do have it all done.

You're comparing apples to oranges though, the MR2 is tiny and more of a true sports car, supra is a GT car...

IJ: I've always thought that about the strut town bars, but TRD made em, ect so I was never really sure if it would really do anything as the top of the strut towers isn't under stress...

I agree. It's just so many people have posted that they want to buy coilovers and bigger sway bars, they may not know exactly what they're doing suspension wise (not that I'm any kind of expert), and buy the stiffest coilovers and biggest sway bars they can get their hands on.

IMO its all about balance trying to balance a street car and a race car but it doesn't help that the supra is like an elephant trying to figure skate. I am going to be using my supra as a daily driver and i drive at least 60 miles a day and only about 10 of those are on highways and mainroads so i am going to have a time finding a setup that will work well for me lol

on a side note why in the hell doesn't energy suspension make a cheap poly kit for our gen supras. I mean they can make a great performing kit for every other car in the world and well it for under 300 bucks so why not ours?

because energy suspension sucks balls...

bigger sway bars + stock suspension = broken parts on the rear...

nothin wrong with super stiff coilovers and swaybars...you just have to live with the ride...

The reason I'm going coilovers is for the price of good shocks, springs, and pillowball mounts...I could have a coilover that's fully adjustable. Bang for the buck it's worth it.

Anyone that thinks that the supra doesn't handle has to compare it to something it's size. I can throw a geo metro around WAY faster than my supra, but it's just not as fun IMHO...
