I'm going to look at it tonight, I'm seriously thinking about buying this car. I've been wanting to get a good DD and was going to pick up an IS300 but I took one look at this thing and I'm in love!

I was thinking an NA 2jz or if I do find a cheap 1uz. I don't think I can find a AE86 motor cheap. Gonna start digging for info and motor swap stuff for it. Prolly gonna pick it up tonight I hope.

Welp, I own the car now, paid $900 for it.
It has the usual rusted areas and will need some TLC to get this thing back to ship shape, but otherwise, body is in excellent condition for the age of the car.

Well she is home next to the poopra. I've got a lot in store for this car, I've decided I'm going to make it my own luxury DD. So what I've come up with is this. I want to do a NA 2jz swap into it, I want to fix the suspension to some sort of coilover set all around (lots of research this will take) because the leaf springs in the back are just absurd, then I've got another pair of Mark 3 Supra Seats that I'm going to put in her, and finally I'm gonna search high and low and get the complete interior from an IS300 and swap it in. I know this sounds crazy but I want an IS300 so bad but I've already fallen in love with the little rolla that could. I feel like Richard Hammon on Top Gear that bought the Opel Cadet and named it Oliver...this car even has the same little horn too. She will need a good bit of love to get to where I want her but hell, 2 years it took me to do the 2jzgte swap on the poopra and I'm still fixing little nick nacks on her and she has gone from 4x4 NA to street queen with an interior that is quiet clean and luxurious when compared to even most modern cars these days. I really do think this will be a fun little DD when I'm done with it, and it will give me plenty of time to work and use the supra as a weekend and when I want driver as opposed to her having to do daily duty in stop and go traffic which is just not supposed to be.

So I've been looking around for a forum and all I've found is Club-K, worst part is they are NZ based. So getting a part I might need is well, not going to happen.

That and the info they have there is not very good. Man I wish there were more sites like Supramania.

So that being said does anyone know of a place I can get better info on this car?

The first thing I've been looking around to figure out is what rear end I can swap in to get rid of these leaf springs, the thing handles like a lump of warm dog shit. LOL
I'm wondering if an AE86 rear end will do. Or if I'm going to have to fab up my own. Maybe use a Celicas ass end and build my own towers in the back.

I think an AE86 rear will work, and using a combination of parts, you can build a mean rear suspension for that thing.

The guys at www.japanesenostalgiccar.com are very knowledgeable and will be able to help you out. It's more of an all old japanese car forum, but there are sections pertaining to each make and even model.
