Supramania is REALLY becoming a Community

I can't tell you how clueless 90% of the mechanics were when I took my car to them over the years, I just post some obsure picture and try to describe the noise and 5 people are telling me exactly what's wrong with the car. Most toyota mechanics could not figure out these things 1/2 the time.

Where are all these mechanics you speak of? I often scratch my head when I read posts here or when i-supra had traffic over statements like yours.

My computer freaked just after starting this post last night, and i'm just getting back on. And I still love how the community is comming together!

I'm going to have to swap my tranny out, and yes, I have Supramania member N2FISHN69 willing to give free help.

Here's a Community project we could all get together and do....I think it would be AWESOME! Stick with me here.

We figure out what the cost would be to fly IJ to the states. Then we all donate to buy his ticket. Once here, we could transport him from state to state in a member's MKIII. I know it would take one hell of a planning job to get him to all 48 states in a short period of time. We'd let the highest donating member from each state do the driving, but I'm sure there would be several members eager to meet IJ, and other members at each exchange. Exchanges could be done at places of interest picked by IJ, so he could enjoy the trip. In some areas, he could get through 3-5 (or more) states in a day with one stop in each. Members could come from all over that state to catch him coming in or going out which ever is closest. Then those who come could extend it out to litle mini meets once he caries on.

Shit this is crazy, but would be fun.

Ray: I keep SF as read only and will go through "new posts" from time to time and do the same on Aussie SF and have noticed a LOT of attitude

Bishop, Dr Jonez and Dean Marcum still have good tech posted there. Other than that, I stay out too.

edit: <---Conservative, not Republican. But the R's put up far more conservative candidates than does the DNC, that are worth voting for. The days of "the buck stops here" and "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what can you do for your country" are over at the DNC.

lol, yeah, scrapping the whole of the other one.

I moved out of my old place and am moving into a new place. So all of my stuff is packed up and in storage for a few more weeks. But after that I'll restart it. PLUS the new place is less than a quarter of a mile away from the forest road I was planning on using in the movie, haha so it kind of worked out well.

One of my buddies just got a G35 so I'm trying to convince him to be the other car, haha. We'll see, I'll probably put out another teaser sometime next month or October and maybe be done with it by December.

By nature....MKIII owners are more down to earth than the elitist other group. We own our cars either because we can't afford better, or because we drive what we want to be driving, and spend out money wisely on mods rather than making payments on a car that we are gonna void the warranty on, and drive the piss out of it.

We are the more do it yourself bunch, and are glad to help each other help ourselves.

Over the last week or so, I am truly seeing signs of Supramania becoming a Community. I am all the sudden seeing several cases of one Supra Brother helping another, because "by God" he owns a Supra! This is a spirit I hope continues here. Check out these examples:

1. Reign Maker is nearing completion of his new monster motor when the machine shop informs him that his head is just not gonna be able to make it. Seeing that Jake has had a hell of a time with his machine work, Rakkasan steps in and donates a head to the project from across the state. Another offer was made as well but logistics weren't worked out quick enough.

2. Kwnate has clutch trouble at the PACNW meet (wish I coulda been there), and Seamus Donates a clutch and a gang of members break out the wrenches and take care of it. Go read the PacNW pics thread, it's great reading, and for those who can't read great pics too.

3. I just read Jonathon1's thread about his new tail lights. They were Donated by Weezl. And they look pretty damn good too.

4. Audioman81 has been parting a car for a while. Now he has started a post of almost all give away stuff. There's some decent parts left too. There is a rear end from an N/A. Not sure if it's LSD, but all N/A's had 4.30's (right?)

5. Boosted wrecked his beautiful car. And before he could get over it, he was offered a smokin deal on a body for the motor swap. Check out his build thread.

There are 5 quick examples of a REAL Community taking shape. I know there are plenty more. I am SO proud to be a part of a community like this one, and I hope the trend continues. I'm not suggesting that we all just start giving away everything we have. Hell, I do a lot of selling myself. But, if I see a Supra Brother (or Sister) in need, you can bet your ass I'm gonna help the best I can.

thanks for the recognition, you should be on the list too for all the parts you get recirculated into the community instead of just in the trash.
